Gantz

Gantz, is a short anime consisting of only 26 episodes which was originally split into 2 separate series both of which had 13 episodes, but was later joined together to form one story.

The story starts off with a teenage boy, not different from any of us who tried to save an old homeless man who fell on the subway tracks with an old friend. Rescuing the man was a success, but at the cost of their own lives... or was it? From their "death scene", they were transported to a mysterious room held high in a block of apartments that escape was futile. At one end of the room was a mysterious black sphere, better known as "Gantz".
This sphere now controls their lives, it orders them to do its bidding, and after they are aloud to go free to their own lives, until called back. And thus starts the story of Gantz.

The story is a mixture of action, romance, friendship, meanings and morales. This is probably my favorite anime I've watched due to how you can relate to some of the characters personal lives and views.

Warning
This anime DOES include the odd bit of nudity and quite strong language, so if any of that offends you or you are too young for that content, try not to watch this anime.

It is also available in manga form, in which the story carries on instead of ending after the 26th episode.

It's a tad bizarre, but also good, but at the same time, way too many people die.

Yeah this anime was on PPV 7-8 months ago, I looked at the info, and then put it on, BAM the *not appropriate* part was right there.
