Heh, Air and Kanon has been on my to watch list for quite some time. But I don't trust Jack so I'll have to check it out for myself; I think it's best not to think of Clannad while watching the two series.

By all means give Kanon a try. Like I said it's not bad, just not one of my favorites.

Done with Tokyo Magnitude 8.0.

It was alright, not my favorite though. Got a bit emotional towards the end, but that was nothing compared to the state clannad left me in.

So awesome it may or may not be in my Top 2.

But for some reason my favorite 3-5 animes I like all pretty much about the same, I guess! I've never really put them in any order, because each of them have such strong pros that you can't always easily compare, kind of in an apples to oranges kind of way.

Done watching Angel Beats!

It was alright. Had a few unexpected plot twists. Can't say it made me cry though.
The soundtrack was a definitely a strong point.

Also Kanon is my #1.5 anime. I loved it just slightly less then Clannad and I feel like I may have liked it better had it not been so much like Clannad. It'd never hold a candle to After Story, though. I don't even bother ranking After Story. It's too unfair to the others.

Lol well hopefully this weekend or the next I'll finally be able to sit down and watch them. I'll be sure to let ya know of my thoughts :p

What if you watched Kanon first, would you feel the same towards Clannad as you do now with Kanon? Maybe Clannad is too much like Kanon seeing as Kanon was released first.

AIR was ok. Honestly play the game instead if you can. Just keep in mind it's an eroge.

And yes I feel about Kanon 100%. I keep trying to get someone to watch them the other way around and Jack stops my science.

I feel like people have misunderstood the negativity towards Kanon as an unconscious desensitization towards the theme, simply because it was preceded by Clannad.

Kanon's imperfections are obvious without having to compare it to Clannad.

I think I might rewatch the first season of Clannad with subs instead of dubs. Idk, every other anime feels meaningless to me now :down:

Which movie would you watch first between : Summer wars, Spirited away and 5cm per second?

Watching Clannad dubbed is a sin. I'm shocked you even enjoyed it as terrible as the voice acting is in the dub.

I guess a good order would be 5 Centimeters Per Second, Spirited Away, and Summer Wars. Can't give you a solid reason why, other than it just feels like a decent order to watch them in. ^_^

Only the first season of Clannad is dubbed, After Story isn't yet. I think the dub is alright to be honest, save for a few characters (like Sunohara's sister :facepalm:

) .

As Jack said, watch subbed nao. I actually watched the dub after watching the sub but I could not stand Sunohara's voice; it was so friggen annoying. Overall though, the voice acting isn't that bad.

As for the order of the movies, I watched Spirited Away when I was like in grade 6 or so. It was dub but still really good.

More Shinkai (5cm per second creator):
She and Her Cat - 5 mins long but a nice message to it
Voices of a Distant Star - Not much to say but it was alright.
The Place Promised in Our Early Days - I have yet to watch this one.
