I think he's the real one (he seems to have stopped using his illusion powers for the time being), but given the power of that orb, Urahara's attack was too weak to leave more than a scratch.
But anyway, about time he showed up. What took him so long?

I'm going with Shinji on that one: it doesn't make sense. Tricking people into mistaking another person for Aizen? Been done. Tricking someone into mistaking themselves for Aizen? No.
Also, isn't Ichigo immune to Aizen's illusions?

Ichigo is only under the illusion that he's immune to Aizen's illusions.

The illusion is you. Ichigo had a stroke and suddenly started thinking all of this was happening.

That's why it all focuses around him only. He's really in the hospital in a coma.

Yeah, it's a pretty cool theory for pokemon, though it can really be applied to pretty much every show

No, the captain of Squad Four seemed pretty darn convinced he was immune...so long as he doesn't see Aizen's shikai, which hasn't made an appearance yet (we think).
However, it's probably a moot point; Aizen (seems to have) stopped using his illusion powers.

Aizen probably released Kyoka Suigetsu before he even came to Karakura Town.

Speaking of which, in hindsight, why were they so surprised when Aizen used it to replace himself with Hinamori? Because he had used it not too long before that to trick Halibel...
