Definitely a really original idea for Kyoraku's Shikai.

I will admit, this was a good chapter. I'll give props to Kubo on this one.

But at this point it's just a shiny nickle in a pile of mud.

That's a very interesting shikai. Makes me think his bankai is one of two things:
1. Some completely backwards-minded, crazy off-the-wall thing that's more complex than string theory, quantum mechanics, and general relativity combined.
2. Something normal as heck (giant sword/gun/beam/weapon/awesomeness of death).

Still, though, if Halibel could at least hold her own against two Vizard and a captain, she's not weak enough to be treated as cannon fodder. Though, admittedly, Aizen treats everyone under him like cannon fodder unless he really needs their loyalty, which might increase traitorism against him.

its pretty obvious what happened. She already survived enough without showing any real damage up to this point and there weren't many attacks left to use. Kubo realized this and said "crap better pull something" and did this.
