Unless he really is, but then that'd be a major anticlimax

Wonder how Shinji stopped his power from affecting the rest of the captains...knowing the way these things work, they're going to let Aizen die slowly while they explain the entire thing. If he actually is going to die, we're also probably going to get a few chapters of flashback...though I doubt he's done for.
Actually, is there any reason for Aizen to physically be at this battle? He already has his illusions, which apparently don't require his direct presence.

Aizen hasn't used a mask or his shikai yet. It's not over.

Then again, he was just standing there, not bothering to use the oh-so-many openings apparently present, looking quite surprised

That's because Ichigo feels overwhelmed by his own shadow if he isn't mad at it.

I guess now it's time for Aizen to take out his mask or pull off a resurrection (assuming he has them).

We're just taking people's word that Ighico hasn't seen Aizen's shikai. Aizen's had plenty of time to show it to him before this battle (the ideal time would have been during his escape at the end of the Soul Society arc).

That would be Ichigo acting SMART though. Also it wouldn't be as dramatic either.

To be fair Ichigo didn't really have a clue what was going on at all and they all attacked at once.

We don't know what's been real and what hasn't now.

Aizen was definitely doing some attacking in the illusion so Kurosaki likely saw Aizen attacking the people from time to time. It's likely it looked like everyone was just trying to reach her, not attack.

I figured the illusion was already pulled but I didn't think it would turn out quite like that.

I'm trying to figure out how Hinamori got all the way up there if she was still unconscious from having her spleen ripped out.

Aizen was probably holding her up somehow.

It's entirely possible he had her with him the entire time and just had her hidden and changed things the final moment.

EDIT: I just reread chapters 389 to present.

I recommend everyone else do the same. Every panel with Ichigo seems completely different now. He was confused right from the beginning and spoke out to the captains. Possible the illusion kept them from hearing, but he calls each of their names and is constantly interrupted. Then if you look at Aizen's thoughts they work as if it was Hinamori as well.

Reading those chapters at once points out that Ichigo has only been around for a few minutes as well.... dammit Kubo why do you move this thing so slowly.

Also, hinamori wins the 'first death in Bleach'-award! (not counting antagonists)

At least she better die, dammit Kubo, don't ruin this now

I don't know if Inoue is able to reverse death. It's not entirely impossible since her ability reverses time...
