Just finished 5cm per second.

I can't even find words to describe the insane amount of skill that's behind the artwork of this show. That being said, that was pretty much the only good point imo. The story/soundtrack were both so-so.

Yeah, the story isn't anything special, and neither are the characters. I liked Part II because Kanae Sumida is an interesting character, but the rest was kind of boring IMO. =\

Good message, though.

Aaaand finished Spirited Away today. Very well made, but it's not really aimed for my age. Feels like a Japanese Disney movie :P

Started Summer Wars too, looks promising.

How can you start Summer Wars and not finish it? It's a movie for cryin' out loud. <_<

That is a terrible way to watch anime films.

Well it works for me.

Anyways, I've also started watching SaiKano. I'm only at episode 3 right now, but I don't really like it. The thing is, I've heard from several people that it's pretty good so I was wondering if any of you had watched it. If so, is it worth it?

Never heard of it. Normally I'd say "It's only 13 episodes, might as well finish it now that you've started it", but even 13 episodes can be hard to get through if it starts to feel more like homework than entertainment.

Done with Summer Wars, it was pretty good. I've enjoyed it a lot more than 5cm/s and Spirited Away

Though I must say it's pretty funny that Japan's infrastructure is ran through a MMO.

Oh, and leave it to Natsuki to make a card game look really epic :p.

I like to think of OZ as Google if they bought Gaia Online.

I thought OZ was basically an alternate version of the internet as a whole, not just a website or game/business.

Ever since my post in Rocky's topic, I've watched...

Series
Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann + Movies
Tokyo Magnitude 8.0

Movies
5 Centimeters Per Second
Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance
Howl's Moving Castle
Princess Mononoke
Read or Die (technically a 3-part OVA)
Spirited Away

Evangelion 2.0 is #2 of four films in the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy. The movies are a re-imagining of the original Neon Genesis Evangelion series from 1995-96. If you want to get into Evangelion, then I recommend going back and watching the original series (and the movie End of Evangelion) before watching the Rebuild of Evangelion movies, but that's not entirely necessary. If you do, be prepared for some pretty atrocious mid-90s artwork.

Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? is ridiculously stupid and equally enjoyable to watch, but I do not have it in me to actually recommend this show to anyone.

Howl's Moving Castle is another Miyazaki movie. It's good, and I recommend it if you liked Spirited Away. IMO it's not quite as good as Princess Mononoke (my fav Miyazaki movie).

Read or Die is a 3-part OVA (90minutes in total). I don't know if it's your cup of tea, but I'll recommend it anyway because it's awesome. There's also a 26-episode series (R.O.D -THE TV-) which I thiiiiiiink serves as a direct-sequel to the OVA, or maybe it's an entirely different story? Not sure. =\

I do. As well as Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu.

Maybe I enjoyed it a lot more because I could relate to it a lot more. 5CM > Clannad and any other anime I've seen thus far. The artwork was beautiful especially the contrast of the detailed background in comparison to the characters which weren't so detailed. Heck, we barely knew that much of the characters, almost as if to fit your own molding. The soundtrack was a nice backdrop but I really loved the song near the end, One More Time One More Chance; I felt it put together the story nicely. Again, while the story is somewhat simple, it is still a heart-warming one in my case.

For the longest time, I've had a giant list of anime I wanted to watch so hopefully I can get through some of them this weekend since I have no projects/essays to do.

For all I know the other episodes might be awesome, but the first one doesn't make me want to watch them. It's a bunch of nonsense :?:
Maybe some people like the madness/like to try interpreting it, but I don't.

Also, I've watched Princess Mononoke. I think I liked it a bit more than Spirited Away, but both are very well made nonetheless.

On a side note, I'm watching an anime called Planetes right now, and I highly recommend it to anyone who has run out of anime to watch. It's about trash collectors...
