I got back from the library today on campus and they actually,
for some reason beyond me, had ALL of the manga volumes
to the Akira series! I'm a bit interested in it because people always
tell me my mechanical drawings look like they're from this show/series
and I've never even seen it. So no spoilers please, I'll just try to get
reading on these sometime. I've heard good things about it too
so it doesn't sound like I'll be disappointed in it, although the
manga things they had were rather old so it's probably not
back to front like many now are.

Manga > Movie. Although the movie is VERY nicley animated. Puts a lot of current shows to shame. Still kind of funny how the movie is 2000 pages squeezed into 90 minutes. Although they're both VERY different from each other in terms of how things go.

Um.... Isn't this Anime Shrine? Why are we talking about manga here?

I know that anime is related to manga, but still...

Simple, because we can. Got a problem with it? :-s This might be anime shrine, but manga is perfectly allowed to be talked about, since quite a few anime's are simple adaptains, loosley or fulyl faithful versions of a manga. hell, I encourage manga talk more then general anime, since a lot of the time the manga versions of things are vastly superior compaired to it's anime counterpart.

Once again, got a problem with that? :-s

Well.... I wouldn't go that far, but manga is also acceptable here.
I didn't want to go out and buy the DVD right off the bat without ever having
seen it. Usually I prefer the animated versions myself, but these were
readily available. The library also had a couple ghost in the shell editions
and a couple volumes of other stuff... but Akira was the only complete set
unfortunately. Which is kind of annoying, but it's the best I can do for now.
I'll get the other 3 volumes tommorow and finish the thing this weekend.
