I'll be the first to say that Naruto is hardly the greatest series ever created, and that the anime leaves even more to be desired... usually.

But recently, Shippuuden has been impressing me. They've kicked up their average animation quality, pacing has picked up, and they've been hiring extremely well renowned animators to work on some of the most popular fights in the manga. (First was the Zombie bros fight, and quite later [after a filler arc] the Sasuke vs Deidara fight, and now Jiraya vs Pain.) This has all become especially true after the latest filler arc, in which the episodes have been containing up to three chapters of content each.

As the manga readers know, the anime has officially entered the point where the series picks up. [Which I think the anime really managed to capture with their latest OP - Undoubtedly my favorite to date.] We've seen Jiraya's life story, Sasuke has come back into the picture and looking to tie things up with the Itachi sub-plot, and Akatsuki has been fully revealed with Pain being put into action.

With things going the way they have been with the anime, I'll be following quite intently. I've actually been looking forward to the new episodes the past few weeks. To any of the manga readers who enjoyed these current and upcoming events, I highly suggest you pick up the anime if only for these certain parts.

Keep in mind, since this is a thread dedicated to the anime, anything concerning events that have yet to appear in the anime should be in spoiler tags.

Having caught up with the manga last week, I am glad that the anime is finally getting to the good stuff. I was fairly bored by the 3rd Tails Arc and Sasuke's team wasn't that great... Get over yourself sasuke, stop brooding around like a moody teenager.

I haven't watched the Naruto anime in forever, but they're past the good parts so oh well.
