Personally very excited. I have never owned a PS3 - too many friends owned them and relayed bad ownership stories. So I never purchased one, and instead have rocked the 360 for a couple of years!

But will probably be pre-ordering myself one of these puppies.

Anyone else?

I always like to wait the first year for games to be released and the price of the console to drop.

Definitely not buying it immediately, but maybe after a few years of its lifecycle. I have a pretty good PC so I haven't even touched my ps3 for over 6 months and I don't see the PS4 being superior to my PC until a few years after it's released when we get the more advanced graphics and stuff.

I only use my PS3 for netflix, several games that I'm not heavily invested in, and for the bluray. Since I'm content with my ps3 I won't be getting a PS4.

This right here, i think it is far better to invest in a good pc add a controller and your good to go for more reasons

Better graphics
more games
More play ability with mods ect
cheaper games and deals almost every week on steam
better online servers/private servers
Can use a ps3 controller with a 360 emulator or just use a 360 to play some games

also
Quote:
"The decision to not make the PlayStation 4 backwards compatible is disappointing and means the 5.5 million plus people who own a PS3 in the UK will essentially have to start their gaming collection from scratch," said Alex Simmons, UK editor-in-chief of the gaming site IGN.

i don't have many games as i started buying them for PC years ago but still its kinda a big F U to those ppl that have amased a large collection

I'll definitely wait for the price to drop first. Maybe even wait until the current gen consoles are officially considered last gen and devs pretty much stop making games for them.

I'll wait for the PS4slim.

I've only had my PS3 for like 2 and a half years. I'm in no rush to upgrade just yet.

Yea - on second thoughts, that may be a better idea.

Can anyone remember how much the PS3 was when it was released? I remember paying £250 for my Xbox 360 Elite, and then I paid £200 for the 250GB Facelift a couple of years ago. I am sure that the PS4 will be pricey though.

I don't see the big deal about backwards compatibility. It's not like your ps3 disappears if you buy a Ps4 lol.

If I don't upgrade my computer in about 5 years, then I'd consider buying it.

no. but it would be nice to only have to use one port on your TV. and only have to try to find one controller.

I dunno about anyone else, but I have multiple systems hooked into one tv. All I have to do is change the input to play whatever system I want, and the controllers are always nearby, so you're just unorganized :P Besides, what else would you use the ports for? This day and age, the average tv has 4+ ports.

Haha I guess the only other thing people might have concerns with would be that the new machine will last longer. And they will have unusable games after the old one breaks.

I have a Panasonic, and it has 5 HDMI ports, and all 5 are used. But I only have to use the TV/Sky Remote to change the input..

I've had a PS3 for three years now, and I haven't had a single problem with it. The reason that is, I would never, never buy a console right when it comes out. I heard all of the horror stories surrounding it so I decided to wait it out. Just like I'll wait out the PS4.

Cheaper for me to buy a PS4 than build a new pc. I'll preorder.

I absolutely love my PS3.

But I'll be in college when this comes out probably and it'll probably cost a lot so I might as well hold off for the time being.

No backwards compatibility. I'm content with my Wii U at this point unless they release some big new exclusive for the PS4.
