Hello people of RuneVillage!

Most of you won't remember me, but a few old folks might. I quit RS about 3 years ago, and never looked back.
But now my computer is messing up and I can't play steam games or minecraft anymore so I figured why not. But I have no clue what's happened to RS since I've been away. I logged on and messed around with dungeoneering when it was released, but thats all. Other than that, I'm 3 years out of the loop.


Also, I don't plan on buying membership again, so the p2p changes aren't as important to me. Anyway, any advice is appreciated!

in f2p, they have re-released a couple quests. you can check those out if you feel like it.
they released 'corrupt' dragon items for f2p. they degrade, but are still better than rune.
and while your online, go to the clan chat tab(yellow people, near friends list) and join our chat! called runevillage

Basically you missed the change from Bounty Hunter in the Wilderness to all out PvP again.
From a limit on trade to free trade again.
New quests, new skills. Dungeoneering is a pain at lower levels and believe me. I argued with my friends who had 90+ ( They kept telling me it got better at higher levels) and told them I'd never like this skill and I won't get it up, but now I'm at 88 and I want to go for 100+ but RS won't work for me ...
A LOT of scammers, and just a friendly hint. Don't play h/c, hot/cold. WHATEVER.
I keep telling my brother to stop playing, but he keeps going back and getting cleaned then begging me for money and I finally told him I'm done bailing him out. :p

Sorry it took me so long to reply, my computer will allow me to play rs, yet crashes on these forums. I'm writing from my iPhone.

Anyway, thanks for the replies. Sayaka, I think I remember you too. And lander, I definetly remember our bromance . Congrats on making staff, by the way.

So I got online today and bought some stuff from the very different looking GE. I honestly don't remember where to go to kill stiff for xp in f2p. I'm level 97, wanting to train attack. Any ideas? And are there any new items/monsters/stuff I need to know about that has changed?
And it sucks that all my cool stuff is p2p only, but I can't really afford it at the moment.

Lastly, I just read about Hiker... Freaks me out a bit considering I was a dumb 11 year old kid when I joined this place. I assume he's gone and Glodenox is running things now?

So yeah. Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get re acquainted with RV and RS. Thanks.

Item one: I trained at Moss Giants on Karamja for ages, but this was before cockroaches and ankous. Ankous are in the stronghold of security, are level 86, and have arguably the best consistent drops on F2P (noted mith ore, rune essence, addy arrows). Cockroaches are in the stronghold of player safety. The soldiers are level 83 and drop noted mith and addy ore, and sometimes drop rune items. In terms of items, F2P haven't been getting much love lately. I might recommend a berserker shield if you don't mind fist of guthix, along with some rune gauntlets. Otherwise try out the corrupt dragon stuff, but I never thought it was worth it (read: I didn't have the money for it). Otherwise best melee gear is still pretty much full rune.

Item two: Glode and Jack are in charge, this happened recently due to a faux pas by henner. RV is nothing if not dramatic.

Item three: see item one. I make most of my money from slayer and my kingdom tbh. In F2P I just sold whatever drops I got and made some decent money. Skilling is still a reliable way to get cash but you might want to try merching if you have the float. But F2P merching is hardmode compared to members merching.

In short, get members ASAP.

Lander pretty much summed it up!

Training your attack, like he said, is easiest on anukos, cockroaches, or moss giants(there are also some giants in varrock sewers). But you can also try ice giants or ice warriors. They are in the deep wilderness or in a dungeon south of port sarim.

Money.
Kill, sell drops. Or skill, sell resources. Then when you have a bit of coin saved up, watch the GE. The GE history on the RS website(to find this, search an item while in the GE section of the website) is handy to determine witch items are going to be increasing in price. Buy pefore the increase. Sell once the items have increased.

Alrighty, thanks for the advice guys. Just one problem... I can't do anything until I get members again. Currently I'm at 398 of 68 bank spaces.... Lol.

That's weird. My bank is like 200 some spaces out of 400 some, yet it says 40 some spaces out of the 68 you get as a free player. I thought they changed it so members who went f2p could still play without ditching all their stuff.

Otherwise I might be bumming around on my pker as well, but he's in his 50s. Lemme know if you get there.

it is based on how many f2p items you have banked.
if you have been playing members and still mainly used f2p items(say 398. just a random number ), then your bank would say 398/68 f2p; as well as XX/400 members items used.

also, axes, you once those 398 bank spaces are filled, they can still stack. just DONT take out the last one! buy a 2nd one from the ge, and you can bank it since it stacks on the one already there.

I would kill cows for cash, food, str exp then camp the stronghold :p
You can get firemaking and cooking up with the meat from cows and being low hp levels they work out.
Also bury the bones (optional for a little prayer exp in f2p)
My current main had began as a pure. 90str 40att 1def. Never been a fan of range and mage.
*maxed my melee 5 times at giant spiders in the stronghold *

If you do go to the stronghold, you may need a half inventory of trout since you are 1 def. The minitaurs are lvl 12 if I remember right.

Also, there are monks and chickens for options.

Later on, try hill giants, or hobgoblins. Then moss giants

Should probably go with a full inventory of food and only start looting items after you've opened up some inventory space. ( maximum exp ), but there are many ways you just need to find your "niche".

Got 30 strength last night at monks because minotaurs were kicking my anus. I'm tempted to keep my attack at 5, or maybe go to 20. I don't want to spend too much time on this account just yet haha.
