so guys, xbox 360 or ps3?

personally i prefer the xbox, however im in the process of selling mine at the moment on ebay as my 4 of my close friends have got ps3's and to be honest i dont want to miss out when COD comes out.

to be honest the thing i prefer about xbox is the controller so im looking into one that would work on ps3 at the moment.

anyway, what are your thoughts?!

Both are better than the other in many ways. PS3 is probably known more for it's graphics. Also its free online play and Blu-ray blah blah. Probably. I don't have a PS3. But I've played on them before and sooooomewhat owned a PS2 and those are the only things better that I like about them over an xBox :/
I have an xBox (actually two, but that's a long story...well not really but who cares). Mainly for social reasons since I only know like two guys with a PS3 and like 20+ with an xBox. The controller is more comfortable to play with, it goes more in-depth with one's profile, and it has Halo (ololol). I just feel like you feel more comfortable and more connected while playing an xBox. I have more friends who play it, so that's another plus. And I've liked Microsoft since I was young.
Yeah soooo, somewhat biased, but I can safely say that, hypothetically, if I would be given a choice to change my xBox(s) into a PS3(s), I'd stay with the xBox.
Even though I hardly play it anymore :/

Had a PS3 for two years this Christmas season, haven't got a single complaint about it. I can agree with the argument that more people have 360s but I play games more for the single player value than multiplayer, so it doesn't bother me. Couple that with great titles, buyers' loyalty, bluray, free online play when I want it, and better graphics and I can't go wrong.

i agree about xbox feeling more comfortable, the menu just seems a bit friendlier etc. i really do wish i was staying with xbox but the fact is my live is up and i dont see the point in paying £40 to play when i could get a ps3, not pay and play against all my friends, plus there are some options on the controller front which look promising!

I would've got a PS3 if i hadn't had been for 2 key points:

-There are many Xbox only games which outweigh the PS3 games heavily.
-All of my irl friends have an Xbox.

I was talking to a friend who has both, and she said she would use the Xbox more, but she prefers the PS3 because she prefers games which don't require Online, also she spent like a month getting PS3 Online because it wouldn't set up correctly, but apparently it's a common problem.

I have the Xbox 360 Slim, which is quite simply the most precious thing in my live at this current point in time.

I owned both at one point, sold the PS3 eventually because the exclusives I wanted to play for it weren't keeping me entertained enough to the point I wanted to use it.

The graphics for both are so close that it doesn't really make much difference to me, and didn't when I had both systems. Add to that the better online experience with the 360 and that makes it my console of choice.

i got both ps3 n 360 downstairs in the front room gathering dust, PC is best choice xD. But i used 360 for gaming and i used my ps3 as a home entertainment system (playing hd movies, streaming movies online, browsing websites and playing games that were ps3 only)

Well, as the geek I am... I own all the current Gen consoles, and handheld (if an original DS counts). My PS3 is my current love.

I'm a lover of the JRPG genre, and a lot of these only come of on PS3, The Ar tonelico, Aterlier, and Neptunia series to name a few.

I'll admit that I think the 360 is superior for online play. Although I don't actually own any games that I can play online on my PS3 (apart from Arcana Heart 3), I just don't want to, I'd rather get them for Xbox.

Both are good consoles, but again, they both have good and bad parts to them, although, I can say I can list a lot more bad on the 360, and I've owned that 1.5 years longer than my PS3.

Moose out.

The only current console I have is a 360. I've more or less decided that the last game I'm playing on a console is Gears of War 3; from now on, I'm back to PC gaming.

Don't see any argument going on here. :?:

On topic, I love my PS3. My only complaint with it is that the controller isn't as comfortable to use as the Xbox 360's is.

I have both and use them both for different things. Xbox is more my shooter console while PS3 is more my blu-ray player/RPG gaming device. Honestly the main reason I use the xbox more is because I enjoy playing console shooters alot and find the controller much more comfortable. Still waiting for the day a decent PS3 controller is made that actually feels and plays like a real xbox controller. I have bought many clones and none of them feel right.

They both have their good and bad points, but I still enjoy using both of them, unlike my wii which just gathers dust.

for those of you complaining about the PS3 controllers not being as comfortable to use as xbox (which i agree with 100%) ive just found the Cross battle adapter!

apparently it lets you plug a wired xbox controller into a ps3 and it works! as soon as i get my ps3 in one/two weeks i will get one and report back

or these look ok, and they are a lot cheaper. Gioteck real triggers extend R2 and L2 out more like the xbox!

I have seen the cross battle adapter before, but it's quite expensive. Plus from some research I did, it has problems in some games.

Sadly, i have to admit, that the Xbox 360 Controller isn't 100% perfect, it's more 95%.
I have found with only Gears of War 2, that when i fire a powerful weapons such as a Pistol or the Sniper that the controller disconnects, to balance that i had to turn Vibration off; so when big enemies are nearby i am a bit vulnerable.

The Xbox 360 Slim has a better disk reader than the original Xbox 360; my prime example is a bought Gears of War 1 for £5 pre-owned and it didn't work ever on the original Xbox 360, but on the Slim it works perfectly. The slim is almost completely silent, which is a big change from the original also it looks a lot nicer.

In exactly what way is the ps3 controller not comfortable? I've been playing playstation since its inception, and I've never had this complaint. I've also played lots (hundreds of hours) of xbox with friends and family and wouldn't really prefer that controller over the playstation one.

Maybe because it's a bit bigger and rounder, and fills out your hands better? I dunno. I remember when xbox first came out and people complained about how humongous their controllers were, but I believe they are smaller now.

Yeah, basically they feel better in your hands, also the analog sticks are better, i find when using my PS2 sometimes my thumbs slip off the analog sticks, but because of the indentation on the Xbox 360 controllers it stops that.
