Yeah, I'm at level 55 now, they're all Ancient nowadays. The armor difference might help stop the melee attacks, but it doesn't affect magic defense at all... Dunno man.

On another note, the patch I downloaded today didn't help with waiting/sleeping time lag, which is a bummer. I was looking forward to that.

I'm sure that's the case, at least partially. My heavy boots have a resist fire enchantment and my heavy shield has a resist magic enchantment. Kinda sorta forgot about those things. :XD:

And Henner, thats...really weird. The game is full of them. They should have started showing up in the wild after you fought the first one. Couple suggestions:

If you're far enough in the main story, the greybeards will give you the locations of words of power. As Ezcal said, this will pinpoint some of the dragon lairs where there WILL be dragons guarding their words. Another suggestion is you can get miscellaneous quests from the jarl's steward, and sometimes they will ask you to slay a dragon. Yet again, you can try to follow your "dragon burial map" that what'shername gives you, because there are special, named dragons that will spawn from their little tombs at those sites. The map can be tough to read so maybe you can look online for a dragon hunting guide. Yet another suggestion is that Dragons love to attack cities. For me, I've had to defend Solitude 3-4 times by now so there's always a random chance that a dragon will spawn and attack a town.

If you're really, really intent on finding some, just finish the main quest line. You will certainly run into more dragons, most notably in the final quest/s.

Maging is pretty much a death trap if you encounter a fellow mage who happens to be immune to half of the crap you throw at him.

But +250% magicka regeneration helps with the powerful spells.

Make some weakness to [magic type] poisons and shoot them before you start hurling spells.

For anyone that plays on the Xbox 360, could you tell me what version of the game you're running? It should say it in the bottom right corner on the title screen.

I got a new Xbox 360 because my old one's video card finally died after years of faithful use, and the switch to my new Xbox 360 may not have brought the latest patch along with the rest of the data. I am getting this error message: "This save game was created on a later version of Skyrim. Please download any updates." My ISP is being annoying and incompetent, so I can't connect to Xbox Live on my Xbox 360 right now to update it even if I wanted to.

Thanks!

Only dragons I have trouble with (playing on Adept) are Elder & Ancient. I think I only ran into one briefly on my warrior character before I reset. My highest character is lvl 42 (which I no longer play, for now)

Quote:
As of today, it’s been three weeks since we released Skyrim worldwide. We’re simply blown away by the response, from new and old fans, and amazed by the sheer number of people playing the game. It’s been absolutely fantastic hearing your stories, seeing early mods, and watching fan videos (more live music ones please, we love those).

We want to thank everyone reading this for playing our game and supporting all it tries to do. We wouldn’t have this success without you, and we want you to know we’re committed to making your Skyrim experience even better. And not just in the short term, but over the life of the game. Here’s a quick peek at what we’re working on right now:

Creation Kit — Beginning in January, PC players will be able to download the same development tools we used at Bethesda Game Studios to create Skyrim. In tandem with the Creation Kit’s release, we will roll out a new Wiki and videos to help you get started. It also features something we think you’re going to love…

Image

Steam Workshop – We’re excited to share news that we’ve been working closely with Valve to integrate Steam Workshop into the Creation Kit. Using the Workshop, you’ll have free user content with the push of a button. The Creation Kit will bundle your mod and upload it to the Workshop, where everyone can browse, rate, and flag mods for download. You’ll be able to do this from any web device, including your smartphone. Like a live Netflix queue, when you fire up Skyrim, mods you flagged will be automatically downloaded and installed. Everyone here is really excited about the opportunities and possibilities this opens up for our entire community.

Prefer to use existing modding sites? Not a problem. You’ll still be able to upload/share/access Skyrim mods on fan-created mod sites.

Continued Game Updates – This week we released update 1.2 across all platforms, and we’ll be releasing an incremental update next week. We anticipate it will be up on PC first, and then hit PS3 and Xbox 360 later in the week. Among other things, the update will fix issues like magic resistance not calculating properly and the rare, amazing backwards flying dragon. Once the update is released, we’ll share the full release notes.

After the holidays, we’ll continue to release regular updates for the game — through full title updates, as well as incremental “gameplay updates” to fix whatever issues come up along with rebalancing portions of the game for difficulty or exploits. We plan on having a lot of these, not just a few. Overall, you should expect updates to be hitting the PC and Steam earlier and more often, as that’s a process we control. Console updates will follow, as they must be certified and processed by those manufacturers.

We all know this is a huge game, and everyone has a different experience. We’ll continue to do everything we can to make the game better and better for as many people as possible every day. We’ve also realized that with the millions upon millions of people playing Skyrim, we need to treat our updates with greater care. If we get too aggressive trying to fix a minor issue, we run a risk of breaking something larger in a game like this. To be safe, we are prioritizing code side fixes right now over data fixes. Quest and balance issues are usually data, and those will start rolling in a large way with the January updates.

Thanks again for your continued support and patience. We truly have the best fans in the world, and we couldn’t do it without you.

Content through Steam Workshop? ME GUSTA ME GUSTA ME GUSTA. Will definitely be buying it a second time on Steam if it's on sale at all during any Winter Sale Valve might do.

Oh snap, thank you for reminding me Alpr! Until around level 40, I had no idea there was a combat difficulty setting... And I keep forgetting to check what mine is on.

You have to do a little of the main questline to actually find any dragons.

I fixed my problem. Also, no magic resistance? Oh well, another challenge I'll get over when fighting mages.

Just got 100 pickpocketing with my second character. Bought Solitude house shortly afterward... Gotta say, pickpocketing is pretty overpowered at higher levels. Assuming you aren't fighting a mage, being able to take some idiot's weapon BEFORE you attempt to stab him to death is a pretty big boone.

Had that happen to me too last night :awesome:

My first Ancient Dragon, and I couldn't even fight him. Even when he stayed in the same spot, my arrows wouldn't damage him. So, I walked to the wall he was hanging out at, got the word, got the loot, and walked away. I feel... cheap.

Pickpocket and smithing are the first skills I max out due to giving insane amounts of money.

Originally I thought PP was useless, now, it is epic.

The ONLY reason I raised pickpocket was to help get the thief trophy. Then I realized that there is an "extra pockets" perk that allows you to carry 100 more lbs of loot...

my face---> :shock:

The steal weapon perk is incredible, but simply not something I want to spend the points on getting.

I seriously hope that there will be some content for reallocating perk points because I've wasted a Fuzzy Bunny ton in skills for the sake of trophies/easier levels/easier time with certain quests, not necessarily because that was what I wanted to do.

Man, I really should've read through all the perks for all the skills... That +100 carry weight is awesome. I've got the Steed Stone active, so I've already got +100 and -all equipped heavy armor, but still...
