Just saw the required base materials for a legendary weapon.

So I was just running with the zerg in straits about two weeks ago, when I see a familiar name in the map chat "Eadwulf Falaran". Surely this could be no coincidence, so I go to these forums for the first time in over half a year and I find out that I actually ended up on the same server as you guys, completely by chance

A couple of old RVers and me made our own guild on Maguuma (Such as dom3k and Mr. West above, but also Tim, Quan, Nate and some others)

I don't know about those guys, but as you can be in multiple guilds anyway I'd like to join the RV guild

My ingame name is "Jay Rinborn"

98% World Completion. A bugged skill point to go and like ~25 odd POIs, skill points & vistas in WvW maps. No idea how I'll get some of them without transferring...

I think I have around 65% world completion, and close to level 72. Haven't played with WvW much.

Check in every so often; WvW rotates weekly, and a given server's borderlands location as well as its position on the Eternal Battlegrounds changes during that time.

Yeah I've been checking in, but I was reading on the forums that the locations are based on the server's WvW rank compared to others in the particular match-up.

I.e Highest = green, next = blue, lowest = red. My server hasn't changed it's ranking since the first or second week :\ It has only changed once since I started WvW (few weeks ago).

Gave in and picked a server to transfer to. It owned 100% of all WvW maps but not only that, the remaining skill point I needed wasn't bugged!

In case you're curious, no, I do not have a life.

Maguuma actually held the entire WvW map for at least a whole week shortly after release. Unfortunately, I didn't know at the time you had to march into a glorified PvP zone to get full completion.

Yeah I am against it for several reasons. Besides the PVE viewpoint I bet it's frustrating for those who wish to participate in WvW that spots are being taken up by PVE'rs. Oh well, don't hate the player, hate the game. It was always going to happen when a PVE achievement coincided with a PVP zone.

Also that's good about Maguuma. If you want 100% completion, try and make the most of it next time. My home server is full so if I can't get back I think I'll hang out on Maguuma until I get back in, assuming I can't straight away.

Is this game worth it? I never played the original, but my gaming has been incredibly boring and missing somerhing lately.

I would say that the game is pretty worth it. I mean, the new gameplay style is nice and I like the way how everything is laid out on the map.

My final thoughts on the story:

For the ending, just replace Captain Saladbolg with one of the whiners from Destiny's Edge...

Oh, and, during the last few days before the next rotation, we ended up holding the entire WvW area, so I took the opportunity to get 100% completion.

Ah yes, the good old Great Shazam [WIN]...
Good times.

I might pick up the game soon enough, maybe come hunting for some nostalgia while I'm at it ^^

Looking forward to this update on the 22nd... should hopefully fix a few bugs I'm waiting on.

Got my Warrior to lvl 80 the other day now pretty much just hanging around in Cursed Shore killing stof for lootz.

Well, I got on in time to see the Mad King Cutscene:

Kind of unremarkable though. Plus the instance was easily soloable, and frankly I was disappointed that there wasn't more "Mad King Says". At any rate, the event seems to have crashed the network (didn't see that coming...).

So I haven't played much lately and mostly missed the Mad King event because

a) Uni exams are coming up and have had plenty of assessments

but mostly because

b) I wasted 80g trying to get lucky with the Mystic Forge :XD:

Well, after exams are finished I'll probably be playing regularly again. Just need to figure out a better way to make money!

Anyone do Lost Shores final event? Definitely worth it. Did it on 2 toons and on the 1st I managed to get "The Legend" which is selling for about 160 - 180g.

You got a nice piece of exotic jewellary & 20 slot bag guaranteed if you completed it.

Well, the most recent set of updates has apparently broken my GW2 install. Hard. So hard, in fact, that it gets a black screen on program load (can't even get to the character select menu), apparently causes a god damned PARSING ERROR in windows (that's phenomenally bad, in case you don't know), breaks my damn video drivers so hard just by trying to run the program that I can't run any applications that rely on said drivers in any way until I reboot my computer, and I get artefacts all over my screen, etc. Various driver updates haven't done a damn thing. I'm really starting to hate this game's perpetual technical problems; it's had enough bloody development where thousands of users shouldn't be having constant god damned issues three months after release.
