are tank rangers now dated? it seems as though zerkers / turmoils will rofl stomp us all day everyday...our k0 power with range is beyond inferior...im really sad to admit that i may have to give up on my account once and for all and change to melee...no matter what weapon you compare melee is dominate...examples:

dds to mage short = dds has higher damage in 1 spec and can spec 4 times mage short deals LESS dmg and specs ONCE
dark bow to ags = dark bows max spec is close in damage around double 3 or 400's i believe ags is 750 ish yet can spec twice d bow = 1 spec
you say wait what about dbolt(e) ?? well you can wear dfs <--happens to be one of the best shields in game...antidragon shield or pot for anti fire and their completely ineffective....i cant pot or wear a shield to destroy melee specs? wtf?
hand cannon can pwn though! sure it can have some high hits however it also explodes randomly and requires a really high firemaking skill to prevent this from happening so much...melee weapons dont randomly explode and can hit just as hard as this here "man cannon" <--sorry muse =P

so you tell me is it worthit to keep pressing forward with a tank ranger in a melee dominated and favored game? or should i cut my losses and give in? :angst:

I tank range. 930 kills, 80 deaths

And I even have a lower def than most tank rangers. However, tank rangers tend to fail towards the high end of the combat level spectrum. A good combat level for tank ranging is probably about 75-105.

I tank range.

With a quick range weapon (knifes, msb/zammy arrows, dragon darts) to cannon/rune crossbow with vengeance, its very, very possible to get kills. Along with switch, the hand cannon itself has pretty nifty special that goes great with vengeance.

Besides that, you might look into better perfecting a MSB/Zammy Arrows to Dark Bow/Dragon Arrows switch.

Good ranging is all about knowing when to switch, and catch your opponent off-guard. This is easiest done with quick range attack to slower, heavier damaging attack. Be creative and think, in a pking system like RuneScape, sometimes the best way to PK to your own...

But of course, all of this is very expensive, but what isn't? Range tanking is fun, but hard, yes. I personally get a big kick out of it.
