It's that time of year again--time to open last year's RuneVillage Time Capsule! Here's your chance to look back at yourself and go "hahaha you dummy! hindsight is 50/50!"

In other news, I'm not going to create a 2016 Time Capsule anymore; the tradition ends here. But two-thirds of the people in this post chat daily in the RuneVillage Discord Channel, so feel free to stop on by and say hi to JimmyBot!

And if you REALLY want to keep doing it, send your post to me and I'll send it back in a year.

Message: At the time of this post, it's 12:36am and you have just finished a good shift at work. You are set to go part-time next week which you felt was long overdue, but you'll take it all the same. You go to the gym 3 times a week, play basketball twice a week (Wheelchair and mixed) and are striving to be better than the week before, even in minor ways. How are your skills now?
Current stats:
135kg DL
130kg Squat
75kg Bench

WB Personal best: 12 pts
Mixed Personal best: 4 pts

You had a job interview about 2 weeks ago in which you have yet to hear an answer. Any luck on that front?
If not, were you able to gain a spot in retail leaders?
If not, did you find another job?

I hope you're employed at a decent job now. How is it like to finally finish school? I also hope that you still play RS, and that there are updates that made you want to. How's your relationships? Did you finally go to do that thing you wanted to do?
P.S. Never eat raspberries.

How are things? I'm sitting here at home on a weekend free from class, running my teapot simulator so I can finish this research paper thing hopefully within the coming weeks. Just finished getting every achievement in Papers Please, and tomorrow I intend to start catching up on Critical Role. I'm like 7 episodes behind!

How has work been over the past year? By now you've launched the first project I'm currently working on and have likely moved on to one or two other ones. Did it turn out awesome? It crazy to think that the code I'm writing every day has the chance to impact 1 in 7 people on the planet. So crazy. Gain any new team members? Lose any old ones (hopefully not)? How many badges you got? I've got 28.

Life is pretty stable at the moment, so what else do we usually talk about? Video games? I've got a bunch I'm going to start playing soon that have been in my backlog for ages. Legacy of the Void also comes out in a couple days, so that's neat. Bloodstained is supposed to come out in early 2017 or something and I don't remember when Obduction is due. Project Diva X, etc. etc.

I'm not going to ask about DnD. This is me not asking!

I am going to ask about your voice acting classes, though! How have they gone lately? Have you taken any private lessons or made a demo? If not, then are you soon? I'm really excited to hear how you've improved in a year. I ordered a new license plate two days ago and I hope the acronym on it is as true for you as it is for me.

Oh, I also want to know how your Imgur scratch-offs game went! Right now there are 33 people getting tagged to play every day, haha. Did you end up buying more cards? Did you ever reach a wider audience?

I think that's all I've got for ya! I'm pretty sure I'll still be sitting right there in the same place next year with no big lifestyle changes. Keep on doing what you're doing, and I hope things have turned out well as a result! Take care.

Are you still playing MineCraft?
So far you have gone 1 year 2 months and 20 days without drinking. How's that going?
Have you done any woodworking projects?

You better be over 5K posts! 4913 puts me at 84th highest post count on RV

It's amusing that I got 6 levels in RS in the last 12 months :P
I didn't go snowboarding as much as I wanted to. Maybe this winter i'll go a few more times.
Banff friends are good! Another child has arrived.
I did not end up going through Tough Mudder a second time. I remember it being very fun. But I don't have anyone to go with. I also don't have any plans for going in 2016.
Yeah, and I was never called back to do elevations on the tank bases after they were full. And the 2015 summer was filled with odds and ends. No large projects. I did spend a bit of time on pad 104, and it's A/R.
That was a nice Turner Valley job. One of those photos made it to the wall collage.
Nope! No sleds. And I really doubt i'll get any this year.
Carron drives!! Yay! And she still works at the nursing home. Yay.
No hellcat ram :( tear. But I do have a roll pan for my truck! Now it needs to be painted and put on. That better be done by 2016. And maybe a chip and exhaust. Did you go with borla?
Roys things are ok, I guess. I really hope they improve over the next while. He's lost 0.5 so now he has 33.2. I've also tried to buy a few things on my own. Hopefully that exploration group really takes off!! :D that would be extremely exciting.
Surprisingly, the basement isnt quite done yet. I have to install the new toilet, and taps. Then finish cleaning.
The Classic is wicked. But annoying at the same time. It's great to have a such a well functioning keyboard, but too few applications utilize the track pad. And there are a some inconsistencies throughout the OS that could be fixed. Maybe 10.3.3 or 10.4 will correct this. 10.3.3 is supposed to be out in March.‎
Are you still rocking the classic?
The deck wasn't a go this year. Things were fairly slow at work, so I decided not to spend a bunch of cash on the yard. But on the plus side, Reid will probably be able to stamp my design :) so maybe i'll get to work on it in the summer of 2016.
Was the Pike plant a go? I hope you're getting tons of hours there! How about your own truck?‎
Have you beat all the challenges in SSB4?

Yeah, making that avatar was pretty good :) I have it saved all over the place.
did you go snowboarding in the 2014/2015 season??!! How are the Banff friends?‎
Tough Mudder was fun. 3hrs 20mins. I'm hoping to be faster the second time.
Tank farm is finally done. After 281 days, its done. It went well into November this year.
Now I'm doing odd jobs around Calgary before christmas. Its nice to be working out of the house. My current job is a pipeline near turner valley. Its nice out there!
Did you end up getting sleds last winter?
Carron doesnt drive yet, but she is working at the nursing home.
My truck still doesnt have much work done to it :P but maybe this time next year they will have a 1/2 ton ram hellcat :D that would be awesome!

As for investments, student loans are 30% paid off. Truck is paid off. I havn't been putting anything extra into the mortgage though. Roy has 7k now. I have dropped ~2k into the basement, and it isn't finished yet. So no renters.
Can't wait to get rid of this double typing Q10. Hope the Classic rocks!
How did the deck building go?

it was fun!

Yeah, saving is going well. This past summer I could only charge for one quad, which cut my earnings substantially. But on the plus side, the people at this job are really good people! And if I keep working hard, I might get a shot at getting hired on with Devon.
Nope, im not close to becoming an ALS. Im really unsure of becoming one.
Yeah, debt is shrinking. Its nice :)
I havnt put much into my truck. A house is more important. I did, however, have to put a new rear window in :P silly me.
I went snowboarding lots!!! It was excellent!! That trip to big white rocked! I really hope something like that happens again this winter.
Red Phat doesnt look like it will ever happen. and the only thing below 80 is queer-neering. its 78.(also lame divnation is lvl 1. Meh.). All noncombat stats will need to be 85 to get 2000 total. Yeah, combat really sucks. All my pker accounts are useless. Rs07 is a good place to pk! But you had to start t lvl3 again. RS3 is lame compared to what I was hoping. RS3 is basically just a new story, which im not really following. Something about gods being pissed off. Meh. But the HTML5 thing looks cool! Its just not released yet. The new sounds are awesome!
Going to the gym is something I still do. Im not really seeing a ton of results yet. Maybe by christmas the rest of my stomach will be defined. Im eating a lot better!
Carron doesnt have her license yet. :( *sigh* one day.
She also doesnt have a job. She needs to get on that. And stop whining about starting at minimum wage jobs. You need to start somewhere.
Her school is well though. Really really good marks so far!

Well, this tank farm wont build itself! The sumps are going in tomorrow. The clay is about 85% done. The gravel is done on the access road, and on the tank bases, but no where else. The sand on the tanks is all done! 3mm tolerance complete!

See you next year! Hope you have some things like the truck or school loan paid off. And you have a few investments made! Like a house or stocks.

Hey Future Owen,
hope all is well, and you will be either planning another trip to scotland(or some other country really, just see lots of the world), OR saving for a house.
how is working for all-can going? are you closer to becoming an ALS?
hopefully by now you have little debt! and put some sweet things onto your truck!
i hope you go snowboarding more this winter!
how close are you to getting a red Phat? how about all noncombat stats over 80? or 2000 total level? is the new combat system still as lame as you currently think it is? hows RS3 looking?
you better still be going to the gym! if not, get off your Fuzzy Bunny fat ass and go! if you are, congrats hows the 6pack look?
music: system of a down is still entertaining. blood by in this moment is new. new stuff from shinedown is out.
how is Carron? i hope she is well and drives cars. and is comfortable with work/school combo

Message: Well, as of writing this, it's turning to 2013 all over again. But let's not give into despair; according to what you told LA, that's pretty much the worst thing around. So!

Life in general: It shouldn't need much reminding, but this message is being written at a time when the work schedule is changing to a mandatory 5:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Saturday stretch lasting until... oh, the end of the first week of December or so. No clue if it'll stick, because Apple. Ah, well. You've survived worse, this only hits hard because of losing DnD and probably confusing both yours and Misty's sleep schedules a fair bit. But, let's see what else is working out.
Natsu's life is kinda stretched thin right now with a one-room apartment and college life. Rosie's is thinner with gearing up (mostly mentally) for a big move for university that she's not for totally secured into. LA's physical condition has gone from severe diabetes to adding growing blindness to the list. Hopefully that hasn't utterly destroyed her. Jon's art has hit a serious mode stretch right about now, though the results are probably worth it. Kitty's, however, seems to be stalling. Probably understandable there. PR seemed interested in friendship, which is nice, and Archie's been hopping back and forth across state lines. Both toilets have a little leak, but aside from that nothing about the home life looks horrid. At least not now that the ivy in the garden has been well attacked.

Games: Courtesy of Misty, Animal Crossing's made a really, really big presence. It's easy to see why Jon described it as the kind of game that can consume your life; there's always this one little thing to do here or there that seems valuable to do, but really. It's all just a game, man. Let's see...
DnD, of course. At this point I still haven't started either a sketch of Ember or a journal posting (though without any official topic on the forum, little reason for it there). Hopefully this month long potential break from it doesn't ruin things, since the team as a whole looks fun despite dysfunction.
FFXII is still in the PS2, and is still quite the story to tell... but let's be honest, by now a PS3 or PS4 should be a thing. Or maybe a Wii U.
Did you ever try Undertale? Even the demo? Have you played a single live Dota 2 game? Any progress on MvM with the crew? Finally finish Skyrim's story? Finally clear your no-early-power-armor genocidal run of Fallout 2? Kick MM6's ass in Smash like he wants? (Finally learned to kick James' like Brawl days?)

Home and Family: Well, as described earlier, you just learned that the master bath's toilet has a small leak. Nowhere near as bad as the guest's, but a leak is still bad. The washer was just freshly repaired (darn broken plastic pieces), and the garden's ivy problem has been largely weeded out. But the rose bush hasn't been moved, rocks remain, trees remain, roof hasn't been replaced, and the mortgage is on its fourth place to pay to. Progress report better be good!
The family's largely still healthy. Last time the parents were visited, there was a fresh coat of paint and new curtains in the to-be office room, though anything else wasn't set in stone. They seemed really excited to have space and so on... did they ever admit to having that alcohol for a party? Adam's still running himself ragged for money for legalities, hopefully that's improved. Joshua... well, failed everyone's hopes pretty hard. I'm sure Thanksgiving will be an event worth writing down and saving to load and copy-paste into the response post when it comes up, heh. How'd Nico's series of trials go? He's really bright, it's just a matter of effort and stability. I don't even have to ask about Misty; really, it's only if you've gotten better at showing you care. (Look at me, trying to shift it to blaming my future self instead of recognizing that it's me here and now that's at the most fault. Har.)

Idle Curiosities: Did Meg ever show up again? Laura finally find some stability? Temptation for more than fighting Phoenix in FFXIV ever return? How's Jackstick's presence in the RV skype group going? Did Chris ever man up and say a word? Seriously, with how well our life is at this point, it's not like we're even worried about what's owed. Have you FINALLY replaced any part of your desktop? Even that Fuzzy Bunny mouse? Speaking of computers, I just got done pulsing and got us up to 60,659,396 keystrokes and 9,906,005 clicks. What are we at now? (Seriously, Simon, how hard DO you have to try? :V) Adam and Misty ever get to meet in more than just text via Skype? Still haven't got that tooth looked at, have you? How far along in house and car payments are you? Any improvements to work process? We still have that sequence change and cart idea to really streamline things, after all... Pay for Performance still hasn't hit, will it? The realistic expectation for me is early 2017, heh.
Well, sleep time. ... Already. ... Bleh. Good luck in the future!

Speaking of which, you're close to making the new Legendary Staff Nevermore, which you'll complete as soon as Anet fix the collection bugs... I wonder if that will take long. You're enjoying the expansion a lot, still in the no-lifing phase one month on (whoops). You've racked up a total 5129 hours (with 20,095 AP, 11 level 80s, WvW Rank 854 and sPvP rank 47) on Gw2 and I suspect you will still be playing in one year's time as it really is your favourite mmorpg you've played. Perhaps not as much though? Wait, you said that last year! Damn.

Real world: I'll keep this short and sweet. Do you still live at home? Do you have a job/career path? Have you travelled at all like you keep saying you are going to? Have you made any progress on some of your issues that are weighing you down? Are you happy?

Interesting--I'm sitting here at home after a very stressful and hectic day at work, but no big deal! I tried finishing the research paper thing but my professor didn't seem to understand the concept of "I am not allowed to continue work on this" and it all fell by the wayside. Those of us in the Discord chat were just talking about me platinuming Papers, Please this morning, which is odd timing. And I ended up catching up completely on Critical Role, only to follow way behind again. I'm catching up again while playing FFXI but it looks like I'm...*checks* 10 episodes behind!

Work's been awesome, the the project went well (but didn't launch for many more months.) I'm getting a ton of responsibilities which is awesome and terrifying but w/e. I also got promoted!

Gained several new team members! Lost an important one.

75, but it's not a contest, dude. Heck, Casey makes up 12 of them.

Beat LotV, which came with Co-op missions so that was fun. Bloodstained's not out yet. Obduction's been out a month or so and I'll be starting it maybe this week? Project Diva X is fun. The real surprise has been the hundred or so hours I've sunk into Overwatch, which has been an absolute blast.

P.S. Never eat raspberries.

It was pretty depressing to leave school. What many people online stated was true: a loss of identity, but months after i got out of school, i did get a decent job that pays well and isn't too tough. Things are less worse. Yes, i do still play RS a little, but not many updates interest me. And yes, i did do that thing i wanted to do! :D
2381 skill total. Invention's 25 levels was a big boost. 180 more posts since last time.
Finally a time capsule response that was good.
I also still get that Hey Arnold reference. :lmao:

Oh god why did you put your play time in here. 7649 hours now. 2520 hours in a year. Well Fuzzy Bunny, at least you do afk more than you used to. So much for not as much!

20,095 -> 26,790 AP
11 level 80s -> 13 level 80s (I guess you put this in here for a measurement of alt addiction)
WvW rank 854 -> WvW rank 1113
sPvP rank 47 -> sPvP rank 79 (one off max, god damn leagues)

Solid progress.

Real world: I'll keep this short and sweet. Do you still live at home? Do you have a job/career path? Have you travelled at all like you keep saying you are going to? Have you made any progress on some of your issues that are weighing you down? Are you happy?

Haha good one.

Remember when you tried to kill me, twice?

At the time of writing, you're quite seriously depressed, thirsty as all Fuzzy Bunny, working at Kelsey's, and waiting.

You're waiting for next summer when it looks like you're finally going to get to Toronto. So I hope with every fiber of my being that when you read this, it'll be from there.

I'm writing back from Stratford actually, but I did live in Toronto for three months! And in a few days I'll be moving to London for the foreseeable future. Finally got out of Thunder Bay, feels GOOD man.

Your mom had a heart attack in August. How's she doing now? She seemed well on the road to recovery. I hope you're still in touch with Grandpa. Leaving both of them behind is one of your major holdups about leaving town.

Mm. She's mostly recovered health-wise and is actually properly managing her diabetes now but, she's still quite a basket-case emotionally.

Grandpa is doing well. Have hardly ever seen him happier either. I was up home for his retirement from the choir proper, after ~62 years in it. What a remarkable person.

I really hope things are better for you.

Message: Well, as of writing this, it's turning to 2013 all over again. But let's not give into despair; according to what you told LA, that's pretty much the worst thing around. So!

Still Kikori, 11,393 after completion. Mafia is the only real source of posts these days. Plenty going on in Discord, so it's not a bad thing. No such luck with it being 2013 again, thankfully!

I actually did need reminding, because they've been getting better about not forcing overtime to cover a lack of work. And there's less work overall. And they're not being dumb and forcing people to use Fuzzy Bunny equipment, so work's getting dumb. Woo!
Natsu's doing much better, Rosie's still up and down, LA's sadly gone but is in touch with e-mail... Jon, sadly, is not the best friend to have due to chemistry. Awesome guy, totally different lifestyles. PR is still him, and Archie may need some help soon. The master toilet is good to go, the guest one is... like a 50% chance of still leaking. The whole thing probably needs replacing sometime. The garden's back to out of control, though it's gonna get better soon.

New Leaf vanished for a while and came back at a VERY conveniently similar time to first playing it, heh.
DnD ran for almost a full year as well. It's not quite over, but on a break due to peoples' real life schedules. Not mine or Rex's, though! :weird:
FFXII went out for a little while thanks to Dynasty Warriors but got back in again. Everyone's level 99, just gotta beat Omega and Yiazmat or however you spell it. Soon.
Tried it, beat it twice. Why is it so hard to not be a pacifist in that game? D:
One live game, maybe?
No real progress I remember.
NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. And NOPE. God, I'm boring, heh.

Kikori wrote:
Har.)

See above for the bathrooms. Got a lot of the ivy removed, just grassy weeds remained. Rose bush died, rocks remain, trees remain, roof is replaced, mortgage finally stopped selling itself. Not... horrible? And their office turned out really nice, yeah. Finally complete, too.
Adam... is still Adam. If he can afford a damn motorcycle, he must be doing alright. Josh started leaving Sarah behind, thank goodness. Nico's tribulations kind of fell off our radar. And we've gotten better. :D

Let's see... No. More than before. Yes, but not enough to get it. He's migrated to Discord, and got his sink drunk. Yup. We know, but he's still trying to pay it forward now. Got rid of instead of replaced, heh. With the current progress not pulsed, it's at 69,609,405 and 11,013,165. Dude, your ratio sucks! They did not, he's pretty well set in Washington. Hell no, Fuzzy Bunny dentists. After looking a bill some time recently, turns out there's a lot more interest paid than actual principal amount. Bleh. Work sucks a bit less after they finally explained an overhaul of the layout that's still in progress (of course). Have, they squandered both. It hit, but they're screwing people left and right (of course).
Ain't sleep time here! :V

I hope you're employed at a decent job now. How is it like to finally finish school? I also hope that you still play RS, and that there are updates that made you want to. How's your relationships? Did you finally go to do that thing you wanted to do?
P.S. Never eat raspberries.

:lmao:

Actually, about that relationships part... -_-

Is there a reason why the time capsule tradition is ending?

A bunch of minor reasons really, but one of the bigger ones is lack of activity. For the last couple years I generally have to beg for entries and extend the deadline to get the ones you see, so I interpreted that as a lack of interest.

If you still really want to do it, feel free to send me a PM and I'll send it back to you in a year. :P But besides that I don't plan on doing anything official.
