Who has gotten their copy yet? How are you finding it?

Got my copy a few hours ago, pretty cool so far, love the boot up speed. No real issues for me at the moment, except that maybe the scaling is a bit funny. As far as games go, like RuneScape, they have all ran fine after updating drivers and Java.

I agree with you! Windows 10 is much better than 8.
So far I only have updated 1 of my machines to windows 10. And it's a T100TA made by Asus(a netbook size machine). I'm happy that with how little power this machine has, it's handling windows 10 very well.

As an added bonus, when I updated a few drivers, my mousepad works much better.

The biggest drawback, is that I can't find a way to make the machine boot up without entering a password.

Also, i'm really looking forward to playing around with wifi-direct transferring. It will make transferring files more simple when I forget my usb cable at home.
I also want to check out miracast and other screensharing options.

I've already had a "critical error" when the start bar/cortana froze up. Had to restart the whole computer to fix it. But besides that its been ok. I need to update java or something to get my minecraft server back up, but that shouldn't be hard.

I'm holding off on my upgrade until I get a second SSD. Turns out my board supports TRIM for RAIDs...

Has this version yet given completely tech illiterate morons a reason to universally pan it the same way the original Win8 UI change did?

Pssssssh, none of that matters! Everyone knows that every other version of Windows is universally hated and the other universally loved!

95 - loved
98 - hated
98SE - loved
ME/2000 - hated
XP - loved
Vista - hated
7 - loved
8 - hated
10 - loved
etc etc

CLEARLY the facets of 10 don't matter! This is the version everyone will laud.

(Anyway, I actually didn't mind Vista or 8. 98SE was just 98 with some fixes, XP was just 2000 with some fixes, and Win7 was just Vista with some fixes, so...seems to me people just like things after they've seen it for a bit and most bugs are squashed.)

It's how Windows works. After 95, they put two teams in constant competition.
Team one makes a reliable, practical, good-for-its-time operating system. Puts it out. 98's fixes, XP, 7.
Team two takes the leftover ideas of how to make it fancy, pretty, flashy, or appealing and tries to outdo them with all the stupidity that got left behind by team one. ME, Vista, 8.

The funny thing is that Win8 even on release was more stable and resource efficient than 7. This was largely ignored because of changing how a couple of the big shiny buttons worked once you logged in, reminiscent of one or two casual complaints I remember from when I was a boy by sysadmins at the lab where my father worked about how the Win3.x/win95 icon scheme felt less convenient than the old shell. Though this time it involved greater computational ignorance and whining, ironically from members of the generation who's been largely responsible for developing this tech to begin with.

Then again I'm just some out-of-touch sod who first and foremost expects operating systems to operate. Probably explains why I still know how to use Linux.

"[Win8] more resource efficient than 7"
I'll agree with you there, Ead. I was always surprised with how little hardware was required to run the OS. I also liked the quick boot times of win8.
BUT. Keep in mind, it doesn't matter how fast the OS is if people can't input a command quickly.

I love windows 10. So much more than 8 and 7.
I had to change a couple of settings to get some programs working again, but no issue there!

Dakota.
