The best phone available, still has room to improve.

My phone contract ended nearly a year ago, and I was one of the few who decided to wait for the new blackberry to be released. Set backs (and the release of the Z10) were frustrating, but its finally here. I have had the Q10 for nearly two weeks, and it would have been perfect if it was a bold with new hardware, and BB10.
But the Q10 isn't; it's half a touch screen. And therefore half crap.

The reason I say that, is like all touch screens, the phone is bogged down with over exaggerated gestures, horrible cursor movement, and painful text selection.

Touchscreens aside,  the Q10 has its own unique problems.
-Notifications are not visible from the home screen. To check anything, you have to 'peek' and see what type of a message you just received.
-The date is not visible from the home screen.  Not really the end of the world, but it is still a nuisance to swipe down on the time to check the date.
-From a locked screen the fastest way to check a new message will take no less than three commands.
-On the lock screen, calendar appointments are displayed with no option to hide.
-There is no option  to invert vertical scrolling.
-When creating a text message, there is not an option to create a new line.
-When editing a text input field with the delete key(shift+backspace), the function randomly switches and reverts to backspaceing.

For the Q10, the positives that begin to offset the negatives, are that the phone has a full physical keyboard, BBMs can be sent via wifi, and the browser is fast. Seriously FAST.

One other thing.
The predictive text is pretty neat. Before you have even pressed a key, it offers the next word based on sentences you have composed in the past.
But when the phone is new and before it has any data to work with, the first word it offers is "I". And once you click it, the second word it comes up with is "am". If you keep accepting all the suggestions, you will end up with: I am a beautiful person.
So even if this phone cant help itself, it is still trying to help you.

Prefer the HTC One / Sony Xperia Z over the Z10.

I believe BBRY's sales/revenue missed analysts estimates, which caused their stock to fall 35% in 2-3 days.. Be interesting to see if they can claw their way back up or if the stock will retest the ~$6 low price area.
