Text Stalker stuff.

Anyway, down to business.

I've looked this topic up I google, but keep finding keyboard warriors claiming the OP works for the company and is really gullible. I hoped I wouldn't get that response from my friends here.

At work I saw an advert for one of these text stalker things. Y'know, the classic one is 'LOL PUT YOUR NAME AND YOUR CRUSHES NAME IN TO SEE YOUR COMPATIBILITY!!'
This one claims it knows everything about everyone. You put a name, location and a question and send it to a number, and they give you an answer. So as a laugh I did it for a mate. The text looked like this.

Which is true... Anyway, I want to know how this works... It's not through Facebook since that quote at the end was said to him during a gig...

does it use google cache or something? Somewhere on the internet he must have mentioned it? I'm not sure but I'mm curious now too.

I would imagine some combination of automated web trawler and human. With facebook, twitter, and other social media outlets, as well as news sties, I would imagine a well trained bot and/human could find just about anything. If you put in something you knew wasn't on the internet, it likely wouldn't know.

Probably. Otherwise it's pretty creepy. Don't know any other methods of how it would work.
