I am a coffee snob. I like certain blends of their coffee, but for the most part the only reason I drink it is because its the only coffee shop on my campus. I drink it black, so the type of roast really matters to me. I don't drink it for the caffeine, I actually like the taste of coffee.

I have the same problem with tea because im british, now the tea just tastes like vomit but i drink it anyway, i drink coca-cola and dr. pepper to avoid the caffene in the tea.

I drink one cup of coffee a day. Usually Arabic or French-pressed. I've had many friends say that my coffee is too bitter on account of how strong I make it. Frankly, I LIKE THE TASTE OF COFFEE; I don't use it as an excuse to have a cup full of whipped cream or chocolate or hundreds and thousands (who the hell puts sprinkles on coffee?! Starbucks needs to die!).

Anyway, Arabic ("Turkish") coffee isn't that hard to make with the right equipment. It is intended to be excessively sweet (by my standards anyway...), and it goes rather well with a pinch of cardamom.

I also loathe Starbucks. They use nothing but the cheapest, shittiest south-Asian coffee they can get, and it has a positively disgusting undertaste. Honestly, it's the worst coffee I've ever had. No wonder they put so much crap in their drinks...

I'm so lost as to how people get addicted to caffeine. I drink more soda than I should, but I can pass it up whenever I want; it's not like it's a daily thing. You buy things especially to brew at home...which you loathe the taste of...why?

Regardless, I don't like coffee partially because I simply don't like any hot beverage. So I've never gotten anything from a Starbucks before, hehe!

I don't like coffee for the most part. And when I do decide to drink it, I put an assload of sugar and creamer in it to cover the disgusting taste of black coffee. Though I do enjoy some gourmet coffees. I also like the flavored creamers, like caramel, nutmeg, or vanilla.

I dislike starbucks. Ours is full of art majors acting like while doing irrelevant things on their macbooks. They look like the scum off the bottom of a hipster's ironic (or retro) shoe. I'm with eadwulf when he says their coffee tastes like garbage, that's because it really does. The only things I've ever gotten from a Starbucks is a vanilla bean frappe and strawberry frappe or whatever it is...and those were nothing special. The only time I ever go into starbucks is with a group of friends who want to go.

Fun fact: The CEO of Starbucks went to my university and donated the entire store to us, so that's cool that he gives back at least. Not many ultra successful people have went to NMU.

On an unrelated note, Steve Mariucci was a star quarterback here in the 70s.

@Jaron: I don't understand it either. I guess it's possible to be addicted to anything, but caffeine is considered to be a drug, so as soon as people hear that they go nuts about being 'addicted' and blame the fact that it's a drug, or whatever. I drink way too much soda, but I drink both caffeine free and soda with caffeine.
