So I went out the night of for the first time this year, and it was a mixed experience. Some sales started at walmart at 10pm, and lemme tell you, I doubt I've ever been so irritated in my life.

The mall in town opened at 12am, and my girlfriend and I went there as well. I got some incredible deals at our local Kohl's store. I also waited in line outside and got randomly interviewed by a reporter from our local newspaper. We got coffee and also went into most stores that were open.

So yeah. Anyone go Black Friday shopping? Do you like it or hate it? Who do you buy for, yourself or others? Perhaps both? Where did you go, were you waiting in line? What for? What all did you buy? What were your estimated savings? There are some people who elaborately plan out their night/morning on Black Friday, do you? :awesome:

I bought:

A build-a-bear kit for my daughter from walmart. Half off or more.
Three outfits for her from kohl's, each came with a onesie and a pair of pants. 10 bucks per, were about half off if not more.
Socks for my girlfriend from kohl's
A shirt for my cousin, a sweater for my aunt from kohl's
A thermos type cup for my girlfriend (kohl's)
aaaand a heating pad/back massager for my girlfriend.

I saved like 94 bucks or something at kohl's, but they mark their crap waaay up and then pretend to have 'sales' so you think you're saving money, but tonight there were some awesome sales. We were winging it for the most part. I got maybe half of my shopping done in one fell swoop. It was a good night, but Walmart was nothing short of a nightmare.

Never have gone. Never will go. That many people is not worth saving a few dollars to me.

P.S. Socks for your boo? You rogue, you. :P

Don't plan on stepping foot outside if I can help it.

My parents were forced to brave the crowds due to needing work supplies from the Home Depot. They reportedly were run over by other peoples' carts no less than three times. Probably literally.

I got an awesome necklace for my girlfriend for 75% off. I also got 4 movies (The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, Despicable Me, Inglorious Fuzzy Bunny, and True Grit), 2 bottles of Cologne, a pillow, 2 pairs of earrings, and probably some other things. Overall, pretty successful!

People were generally pretty nice, but I should have known better than to go to Walmart. I got several carts shoved up my ass.

Also, there were bomb threats in Walmart, Target, parts of the mall, and some other places...

1993.

My cost? $0. :^_^: Parents couldn't sell it because it wouldn't run, they had no idea, so I offered to pay for the title transfer and new tags. I was 99.9% sure it was a fuel pump, sure enough it was! I'm in the truck under $200 (still owe a buddy $100 for labor) and she runs nice. $400 in snow tires and she'll be a 2WD beast in the winter. 5 speed too (I haven't driven an automatic anything in over a year). Already has a 500lb steel plate in bed for traction from the previous owner.

Oh, and about $100 for a CD player or something. Damn thing only has a radio........A RADIO!
