I bought a flash site template off templatemonster some time ago and they have a working contact form but the only issue with the contact form is, its without any captcha, since its a flash site, im not sure how much impact it can get from spammers on the contact form without the captcha but I checked with templatemonster and they said they do not provide this type of additional scripting.

So my question is would it be ok to go without captcha for the contact form on my flash site or if I would lets say incorporate reCaptcha into my flash contact form, how do I achieve that?? sorry but im a total beginner on all these programming. Or perhaps any other type of captcha will do great.

Tyuagen,

I understand your point, but his entire website is in flash; he doesn't want to bypass the flash, he just wants to make sure his flash site is safer from spam.

Gateux,

I do not think your website needs anti-spam protection on your feedback/contact form for now. Bots that can interpret Flash and automate flash forms are more rare, as they take more work to write.

If you do get to that point, you can easily write your own captcha. Just generate a md5 hash of the current timestamp, trim it to, say, 5 characters, and then ask the user to input that into a field. You can probably find font randomization code for each letter, then flatten it up into an image. That way bots will have difficulty reading it (especially if they're using OCR).

No - He doesnt want to bypass flash - the people who Spam do. something named like handle.php may just attract spam etc.
Whiles its less likely to happen (as i assume your flash script is custom) it still COULD happen.

Bots looking though flash is a waste of CPU for them as flash is quite expensive in terms of resources

I misinterpreted your previous post then; it was a little vague for me. Sorry about that.

I completely agree with your statement now.
