Wasn't sure where to put this.

Currently I am trying to teach myself Urdu via some online resources and a program called Byki.

Do any of you guys happen to speak Urdu so I could throw questions off of you?

Also I guess this can be a foreign language, or rather a bilingual thread.

I'm considering learning Telugu. There are many Indian students in my department and I figure it might be handy to learn a sanskrit-based language.

I speak Punjabi, my grandpa used to be able to read/write in Urdu, as it was mandatory to learn back in his school years. I'm not sure if he still can though.

For some reason I thought you'd post here. :P

I'm thinking what I can do is use wikipeida and google maps for some random word refrences and then crosschecking with my notes and trying to figure out how to read them correctly before I try and learn any words. I feel like I need to understand how to read and write it before I can start to memorize words.
