This underhandedness by FJ has officially been elevated to a new and bizarre level of stupid; other articles I've read have pretty much indicated that the lawyer doing the claims is at least slightly insane.

If you check the page for the fundraiser he started, you'll find out that he raised the 20k USD goal in 64 minutes. As of my posting this, the money raised is at nearly ten times his original goal. I think this is what TvTropes would refer to as a "Crowning Moment of Awesome" on part of the internet in general.

Update: At this point, it's just lawyer Charles Carreon acting on his own possibly pathological behalf against The Oatmeal, the charity fundraiser service he's using, the charities themselves, apparently a high court judge in California, and a plethora of other "defendants". Apparently that's all it takes to turn oneself into the most hated idiot on the web.

Was reading up on the case on wikipedia, and if it's to be trusted, funnyjunk has no case. At all. Ever. Suing the National Wildlife Fund and American Cancer Society is just outright bizarre, too...

When even a lawyer involved with your case tries really, really hard to pull you out of it, and you do not, the amount of fail imminent can only be measured by the amount of disbelief on your face when the final result comes out.
