Home ownership sucks, plain and simple. Your furnace dies? Better find $3000-$5000 quick!

Or in my case, my sewer line collapsed. $8000 repair! Had to clean 2ft of raw sewage out of my basement.

But it's also nice as you can do what you want, when you want to your house.

Yeah, things like that suck.
I've dumped ~2.5 grand into replacing the bathroom in the basement. The original shower panels were not installed properly, and were leaking into the wall behind.
However, I think the cost of repairs is absolutely worth it! All the money I've put into the place will be paid back when it comes time to sell.

BTW: Bought my wife a brand new Jeep Patriot this year. Nice vehicle but it is the Caitlyn Jenner of SUV's (no balls).

Wow yikes, that's awful. Makes me feel very fortunate that we haven't had anything like that.

Nope, its a covert attempt to boost my post count. I heard you can't make mod if you don't have enough posts.

Man, I usually quietly delete accidental double posts, but I can't do it if you call attention to it! It makes the next three posts sound like they're crazy! :P

I'd offer you a moderating position, but your wife has more posts than you do! Sorry, but I can't look like I'm playing favorites. I'm sure you understand. It's for the best.

Did I mention we got $35,000 in upgrades for free?

Good part about being in a poor community but having just enough money to not be considered a high risk homeowner. New roof, furnace, wiring, sidewalk, and whole house insulation. We just have to stay here 10 years (4 to go!).
