I don't have any pictures of the ladies yet, but I am going to try to get a picture of them on Wednesday, lol. Every time I go, I forget to take a picture of them. I get so caught up in the work around the barn, and watching the girls play with each other. Yesterday was a beautiful day out; still unable to ride because everything is still covered in snow, so walked them around for about twenty minutes, then let them loose, one by one after they were done being walked. It was funny yesterday, because Misi (one of the younger mares) kept trotting up behind me and Aurora (another one of the younger girls), while I was trying to walk Aurora around. Once and a while, Aurora would try to prance and trot to join her sister, but I would calm her and make her focus on her little task at hand. Then, I let Aurora loose and brought out Dawn, so both Aurora and Misi were teaming up, sometimes trotting behind, or playfully cantering with the occasional half buck. Dawn was good, and calm about the whole thing and paid no attention to the youngsters. Sasha was the last to be walked; my boss walked her around, with me still walking Dawn, Eventually the younger mares calmed with their play and started to follow My boss and I around, forming a single file line. It was a pretty good and fun day. Hopefully I can get some pictures of the mares on Wednesday... they can really be a hoot to work with.

It was a rainy day today, so most of the work was done in the barn. Today, I cleaned some of the tack, as well as do the usual groom/muck/feed. I got to walk the horses a bit for their exercise, but stopped when the rain started to get heavier. Also, I got pictures of the lovely mares!

This is Aurora, the princess of the herd, sister to Misi, and daughter to Sasha.

Misi; she likes to eat her hay... a lot. When it runs out, she paws at the ground for more.

Sasha, one of the older mares. She can be a sweetie sometimes, quiet.

Dawn, the oldest of the herd. She is also a real sweetie... and likes to pose for the camera.

It's weird but also kind of cute the friendships horses have. I remember doing this equestrian thing a while back for a YMCA camp, and the horse I was on would go out of line to just get behind his friend, no matter what I did to try and keep him in line.

Oh man Jan, you just got zinged by Riptide. How much does THAT suck?

Well, statistically speaking, slightly more than a giant suckusaur. A dire one.

I love it; if I had my choice, I would quit my night job at Panera and just work in the barn all day. Lol, glad you guys like the pictures of the girls. I showed my boss the pictures on Sunday, and he laughed a bit, saying that they looked like they were in some kind of hospital setting. He just advised me to take pictures when the girls are outside, since outside pictures tend to look better than stall pictures. xD
