"once you enter into a civil agreement you take all criminal implications out of it"

I don't agree with this. What happens when the agreement is breached?

Yup, we got Fuzzy Bunny and it's a valuable lesson learned. I feel stupid and it was stupid, but I just cannot fathom someone driving off with a car that isn't legally theirs in this instance.

Live and learn. Just gotta be over cautious when dealing with people over the internet and randoms in real life, and as for them just driving off. That's them just thinking about the scam and not worrying about the "What happens now".

True, but also his agreement was made with false information creating it only between him and the buyer making it only civil/verbal agreement taking away the paper trail of the list of sale.

Needing him to sue but...

Soooo basically if I wanted to get them back, I would need to sue. Over 400 dollars, and somehow be able to serve them papers when they have no fixed address.

The false information coming back into play.

That sure is Fuzzy Bunny Lander. I'm glad you got accepted, and hopefully things will turn up for the better for you soon! Look at it this way, at least you only got robbed for 400 dollars, instead of something larger say 4 grand.
