Indie Games ArcadeThe Indie Games Arcade is a showcase of the very best games the indie scene has to offer. These titles are often just as creatively vibrant (if not more so) than their big budget cousins, making the IGA a great destination to unearth hidden gems.
In past years the IGA has been a place to sample artistic curios, quirky releases and indie games on the cusp of greatness, acting as a launchpad for titles that went on to become hugely successful. Joe Danger, Proteus and Frozen Synapse are just a few of the outstanding titles to have featured.
Retro ArcadeSince its first appearance in 2010 the Retro Arcade has grown to become one of the most popular features at the Expo. From the Atari 2600 to the PlayStation 2 and everything in-between, the Retro Arcade celebrates four decades of gaming. 2013's Expo will feature the largest retro gaming stand yet and with our friends at Replay Events curating, you won't want to miss it.
Developer SessionsThe Eurogamer Expo developer sessions bring you face to face with the biggest developers in the world. In our huge auditorium you'll get to hear exclusive updates on the hottest games in development and put your questions to the people making them. Typically this also includes games that are too far out from release to make it onto the show floor in playable form.
In 2012, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima took to the stage to take part in a fascinating Q&A session, David Vonderhaar of Treyarch presented Black Ops 2 and Frank O'Connor of 343 Industries chatted about all things Halo 4, among many others. This year's stellar line-up will be announced gradually in the run-up to the show, look out for more news soon!
CosplayMany cosplayers now attend the Expo and 2012's event saw some of the most creative and impressive costumes yet. Check out this great video by SneakyZebra if you don't believe us. This year we're encouraging even more people to come as their favourite video games character by introducing a dedicated stage for cosplay and prizes for the best costumes. We'll have more info closer to the event.
Tournaments, Pinball, Parties & MoreThe Eurogamer Expo isn't just a great place to discover and sample games and check out developer sessions - it's also a great place to make new friends, meet up with old ones, take part in tournaments and buy cool merchandise.
We're always looking to add exciting new features to the Expo and 2013 will be no different. At the moment we're planning to bring pinball to the Expo for the first time, Digital Foundry will have a stand showcasing cutting edge gaming tech and there's even talk of an art gallery.
Meanwhile returning features will be given a fresh lick of paint. Look out for a much larger tournament area with ample space for spectating, improved developer session streaming on the show floor and epic after show parties.
