But you know....the incredibly condescending tone of your post speaks for itself and I need not point out flaws to begin with. Newsflash, dude. It's not 'cool' to be atheist anymore, it's not 'cool' to attack religion as ridiculous, and you're certainly not part of some sort of elite educated minority because you've figured out that religion is a 'bunch of crap'. Who cares, man? Let people believe what they want. As I've said before, if it makes them better people, or moreover; if it doesn't cause any harm, who are you to judge?

It definately takes faith to truly believe there is no God. How could someone possibly know for a fact that there isn't a God? Oh, yeah.....with faith in that ideal.

You misunderstand the Atheist position. To be fair, this is where the lines start to blur between Agnostics and Atheists.

The Atheist position is not that "There is no God". The Atheist position is that there is no legitimate reason to believe that any God exists. It is the absence of belief in a God. That is not equivalent to believing "There is no God".

I've always enjoyed the analogy that saying Atheism is a religion is like saying bald is a hair colour. An analogy that is closely linked to the notion of Atheism requiring faith.

I completely agree with you to truly believe the proposition "There is no God" requires some kind of faith. Thankfully, that is not the Atheist position.

There are different types of athiests, then, I guess. I always considered what you're saying as agnosticism.
