The much bigger question is how to donate, because after the website changed hands, it's surely not the same.

I'm going to be completely open with you guys. I've never handled donations before, I have no idea how much we need, and I don't know where the money from here goes. The only reason I'm making this topic is because the person who normally manages our donations, Henner, has been off the grid for at least a week.

I've tried contacting Henner through Facebook, and Hiker has tried contacting him through phone calls, voice mails, and emails. No response. My best guess is that he's simply busy. He's a father, after all. But that's very unfortunate for us, because we're already several days past due on our payment, and we may be unplugged if we don't act soon.

I'm going to invite Hiker to post in this topic. Hopefully he can shed some more light on this than I can.

since i was invited.....

@kikori - henner has whatever funds RV has, so not being in contact with him puts RV effectively at zero. there is $100 due for the quarterly hosting.

i've had trouble reaching henner by email for a couple of months.... he says he rarely checks his email because he uses his phone for everything and has trouble accessing his email with his phone. he also says he works nights and sleeps during the day, which is i guess is why i have not been able to reach him by phone... all i get is his voice mail.

i do not think that henner is trying to run off with the funds or anything, i think he's just side-tracked and out of the loop for now. however, meanwhile, life and hosting fees both go on.

@sayaka - i'd suggest for this one-time deal that you, jack, burks or some willing body could collect the donations.

I just sent Henner a message on Facebook. Maybe he'll reply to me since he loves me so much.

Find out where the funds actually go - where they *need* and who they need to go to to pay for the Hosting.. and will reassess situation if donating will keep this site up.

Who "uses his phone for everything" but doesn't check voicemail messages?

Also, yes, the money goes straight to Henner's PayPal account, so he has everything now.
