First of all, I would like to extend my sincere apologies to all Villagers especially to Magicana Drofulcus, Eadwulf, Godders, Kikori on the topic I made about Diamond Jubilee that causes some arguments. I'm an Asian by the way, just thought it would be interesting to share about the news.

We may be of different country of origin, Australian, American, British or Asian, and we may have different ascents of English and different perspectives on things but lets just have peace and accept each differences, my apologies once again for the wrong topic made and if my English is bad.

No need to apologize, you did nothing wrong.

I will apologize in advance though for continuing a debate after its been locked, but I just had to make a point about sample size. Remarkably, a sample size of 1000 is actually quite strong, even when you are talking populations of 10s or 100s of millions. Its very counter-intuitive, but its true, thanks to the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_large_numbers and the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_limit_theorem.

Therefore if you believe the polling explanation at the bottom of the article:

"ICM Research interviewed a random sample of 1,003 adults across the United Kingdom aged 18 and over by telephone on 15-17 April 2011. Interviews were conducted across the country and the results have been weighted to the profile of all adults."

Then the numbers reported should be accurate to within a couple of percentage points.

I do side with you Kik on wondering how anyone could still care about them. Apparently they do though. Speculating a bit, I imagine the British enjoy having it as a relic of the past when they were the center of world. Although the colonies may have broken off, every once in awhile everyone is back paying attention and homage to the royal family and their British past. So its not hard to see why they would take pride in it and want it to continue, even if it is a bit outdated in the 21st century.

Gateux, you did nothing wrong at all, some of the names you mentioned probably should apoligise although some probably won't.

I apoligise for belittling your topic, i probably shouldn't have mentioned how the majority of the population do not care about the Royal Family.

It's been said before, you're not the one at fault. You wanted to post about a holiday, a few people don't really care for the monarchy (which is a valid opinion that was posted by Eadwulf), Cam turned it into a personal fight, and I trolled him as long as he took the "superior" approach. This, I do not regret in the slightest.
I do owe you, Gateu, an apology for contributing to the topic going downhill enough to get locked. It certainly wasn't your intention, and I'm sorry. Having a fight take place where you're trying to have a celebration is probably one of the most unfair things that can come of it. Just remember, you need not apologize for the activities of others.
For those whose browsers auto-enlarge size 1 text, this is in size 1: In before Cam quotes Apple in some attempt to say "See? I'm right and you're wrong."

There is no way on Earth one could've predicted it would devolve into that tripe, Gateux. You're owed apologies, not owing them.

Also let's stop debating the merits of various statistical tools. I don't want this thread to go down in flames as well, and stats discussion, by its nature, does that all too well.

There is only one rule on RV and you broke it... Twice.

Gateux, no need to make apologies.

Threads generally aren't derailed at the behest of the OP. You didn't do anything wrong.

Out of all of them, I feel Monk Basher said it best:

You took a perfectly good topic you were interested in, and they acted like children. They apparently don't regret it either, which I think is even worse, but that's neither here nor there.

And I'm very sorry if their crashing of your thread made you feel like you shouldn't have posted it--in RuneVillage's state, I think that should actually be a punishable offense.

EVERYONE.

I WOULD LIKE TO APOLOGIZE, I WAS THE WORST OFFENDER.

I SUGGESTED TO JACKSTICK THAT IT SHOULD BE LOCKED BEFORE EX REX HAD THE CHANCE TO DELIVER THE HAIRY MANBOOBS WHAT WERE PROMISED.

I AM SO, SO SORRY.

There was also no need to lock the previous thread, I'd already abandoned the topic for lost. I've been told that everyone has their thing and I should let them do it. So Eadwulf can post in every topic about how much he doesn't care about it (Nine years now), Kikori can keep throwing up stupid things when he thinks I'm being 'elitist' (I'm not elitist, I'm right.), Rex can keep posting his manboobs and Goten can continue egging everyone on.

I make no apologies though, and that's that.
