Question about Step 0.

When a villager hits step 0 are they on a complete clean slate or will they always be kinda judged for their previous antics?

You wont be "judged" for it, but it wont be forgotten, necessarily.

Well, i understand, is it a matter of time? I mean i've heard people have been perm banned then years down the track been moderators and other ranks?

Step 0 is a clean slate, but I'm fairly sure "mod eligibility" or whatever depends partly on your personality and whatnot. For instance, Jackstick had warnings before a very long time ago I think, but it turned out he was a pretty awesome and capable dude after all, and once the warnings came off and he was eligible to be a mod again...he became one? (I dunno, I had no say in it, I was in the same group, lol.)

But on the flip side we've had Villagers that have gone from Step 1 to Step 0 and back and forth at least three or four times. They act up and get Steps, then behave for a couple of months and the Steps are removed, and the cycle repeats. Who's to say the cycle won't keep repeating? Is that someone we will still be able to trust with moderator privileges in three months?

Not sure if that answers your question, but I attempted to shed some extra light on the answer DC gave.
