I had an occasion today to be on the Alexa website, and while I was there, took a peek at our stats....

Our "Traffic Rank" - our ranking among all websites rose an incredible 1,000,248 places in the past month!

I realize the discussion about the revival of Free Trade and the Wilderness has affected this somewhat, but for the past 3month period, our rank has increased 166,813 places!

We are now ranked the 864,471th most visited site. :|

Our "Reach", the percent of internet users who view our site increased 130% in the past 30 days, and shows a 20% increase over the last three months.

"Total Pageviews" are up 450% for the month, and 40% up for the last quarter.

"Pageviews Per User" increased by 140% this month, with a 20% increase over the last 90 days.

The average user views 2.8 *unique* pages per visit... .....

And if you wonder if the work by our guides team is having an effect, here are the top 10 search terms that have brought users to our site:

1 malignus' tower
2 runevillage
3 soul wars cape
4 mournings end part
5 speak to hans to solve the clue
6 rune escape
7 revanants
8 karamja island
9 space battleship yamato trailer hd
10 fletching profit

Although I don't know where that thing about the space battleship came from, the rest pretty much have to do with people looking for guides....

The guides help bring people here, and the more updated and new guides we have will help bring them back!

A big "THANKS" to those of you who have done things to help these figures rise, and to those who have not done anything, hopefully this will show that *you* can have an effect and make a difference!

Actually I'm sure that figures into it as well....

Oh.. and while I was looking, I checked a couple of other fansites, just to see if this was a general trend-- the ones I checked, while having an upturn this month, had lost standing for the previous 3 months....

If this isn't reason enough to support my idea for the space battleship yamato usergroup I don't know what is!
or not really...

Though seriously, increased traffic is always good.

I guarantee that Frank's declaration of an epic battle drew in more users too with the anticipation of our new Glorious Leader. :weird:

Hey Hiker, don't mind I ask but when is RV 2.0 launching?? also I think the header graphic banner on the forum does not look quite presentable as in not very nice, other than that, the Runevillage logo with the runes are fine.

Due to a shortage of coders on the Website Team, RV2.0 has no substantial release date. It'll be out whenever our current coders can find the time to work on it, or whenever we can get some more coders to help out.

HOLY CRAP! I have a Japanese bag of chips with the main guy on it that my friend brought back from Japan! He looks really pissed on the packaging, so we just called them the "Really Pissed Off Chips..."

Does that compare well to server logs ?

Alexa state somewhere on their site that its only accurate in the top 100k

And (not sure if this is still how it works) it USED to be based on the browser tool bars, and "guess" the value up taken from the small sample size.

Page Rank is usually a better indicator, Which can be viewed though googles sitemaster tools, Combined with site logs gives a true picture

I can see the same trend happening in the server logs. The amount of bandwidth itself stayed roughly the same, but the amount of unique visitors increased.

The webmaster tools no longer give any information in terms of PageRank. They removed that somewhere in August last year because they felt that webmasters were too obsessed about it.

Greetings,
Glodenox

I can still see it, Your site on the web > search querys

Shows me where my site was ranked for a certain term, and click though rate.

If the amount of Bandwidth has stayed the same doesnt that point to either more people using tools that delete or dont maintain cookies OR old people out - new people in ?

Unless there is a significant change in the data transfer per impression statistic ?

It is a significant change compared to the other months. A change like that can't just be explained by cookies. Also, the statistics don't use cookies for these, they use IP addresses. And I can't imagine anything huge has changed there last month :P

Greetings,
Glodenox
