Well seeing that we dont use subforums. Why not make a Fitness and Nutrition forum? I am sure you all have noticed the new topics being made, For example, "Kermits Real Life Goals!" Or "Kermits Fitness Achievements!". Its not really Runescape related, but they sure are interesting to read. Maybe make a Fitness/Health and Nutrition forum? It can include all of the Real life Goal topics, fitness tips, techniques, work out plans etc. I am not sure how many are into Fitness or Nutrition but promoting isn't such a bad idea :). Criticism welcome, and twists to the idea welcomed aswell.

Agreed. Quite a few people take interest in fitness here, and we would have a fair deal to discuss. Most things you learn fitness-wise tend to come from the Internet anyway. If I listened to the wing-nuts at our local gym I'd probably be dead by now, haha. All in all, it would be quite interesting to discuss this in a dedicated place with your fellow villagers. Plus, it would give us a neat feature most other RuneScape forums lack.

Quite awhile ago, several of us requested this and had a fair bit of people going for it. But, in the end the Admins said no, as there would not be enough activity, and they're trying to cut down on usergroups. I personally don't agree with the first statement, but you never know.

I personally would like to see one, but you'll have to wait to hear from an Administrator.

Well just like everything, it takes a little momentum to get it started. I am sure the other User groups started out slow ;), and now grown into a good forum. I think we will a good amount of people going for it, even some who didn’t like fitness can get into and enjoys its benefits :). *Awaits Administrators*

I would like to join this group if it were to work out. I've got some good work outs that would be cool to share.

Sorry if i made it seem like your against it :O, i sometimes bring the personality i have at work onto the forums. Well, from reading that thread, and seeing all those supporters, i think it would have been pretty active. I know Runevillage is Runescape Related, but the website itself is. Forums, although also related to Runescape, is called a "Discussion Forum", made to discuss various topics, making a forum a popular place for people to post their opinions on practically any subject. I think, once Villagers start seeing this Usergroup, they will be inclined to Join and learn how to stay active, be healthy and grow, aside from the stress of Work, School and Gaming. And seeing that Runevillage is also made up of a pretty nice amount of Young Teens, who are in a critical age to stay healthy, i don't see why not. :)

Thanks for the Support Donut, and Noen :)

I think that it would take away much needed activity from the General Chat forum.

We have to keep in mind that Runevillage is technically a Runescape fansite, and as such the majority of the forums should be Runescape related, but that's not really the case. Adding in an extra forum about Fitness and Nutrition will just be adding another waste of space. I just can't see if being active.

Runevillage the forum is pretty well much done. Runevillage the group will eventually die, but as long as we're still friends with each other in the end, it's still a pretty big thought in our heads. Runevillage the family is forever, no matter where we settle down. If absolutely nothing else ever comes of Runevillage in the future, that alone is a pretty damn awesome thought.

I guess thats true, just wanted to share an idea since it actually promotes good health and well living. It may have been given before, but i dont see anything wrong in repetition :D.

I'd visit it, although couldn't we just use one of the other many forums which have very vague descriptions of what they are supposed to be used for?

Halley92 made a good point. Maybe if one of the other usergroups go inactive it can be replaced?

It's based on RuneScape, yes, but that doesn't mean it has to be based solely towards it. There's nothing wrong with variety to choose from.

Which RuneScape forum would you be more apt to join? "Come to our forum and discuss RuneScape! Only RuneScape." or "Join our forums and discuss RuneScape as well as a multitude of other topics with our forum members." While that may be a slight exaggeration the gist of it is still valid. Don't get me wrong, I'm fully for renewing our former forums to their former RuneScape glory, but an option or two more for our users isn't going to sabotage that.

As for activity, once again, I couldn't disagree more. Fitness topics don't sprout up too much, but when they do they gain a lot of attention and posts in a short amount of time. That just goes to show a dedicated place to discuss something sprouts discussion, it would be the exact case with this forum. And hey, worse comes to worst it simply gets deleted. You wouldn't know for sure if you didn't try.

Make it a forum more aimed at the body, so basically anything about the... body can go there.
I'd be up for it, always looking to discuss fitness stuffs.

I'm all for it. Like the Squishy Gourd up above said, what do we have to lose?

Mods can see my post in the MI for more specifics. I'll reply more after I get some sleep (yay for 18 hour day and being up for 30+ hours....clinicals suck!)

so what is the point? heck make a fitness sticky if you really feel its worth dedicating something to it, but I still feel it doesn't deserve a whole usergroup, I don't agree with the usergroups as a whole regardless, they just take actvitity from other parts of the forum, I really don't see the reason for spreading activity, especially to so called "private" usergroups.
