Why do legends have the ability to mass pm?

Just before demonstrated how necessary they are, the whole forum lagged out because of it.

Remove ability to mass pm for legends '08.

Hmm, I may be wrong, but I think that goes hand in hand with the ability to PM other usergroups/multiple people. So if 'two birds were to be killed with one stone' they may lose the other abilities also. Again, I may be wrong.

And considering it's the first mishap... ever, I think you all can live if they continue to have the power.

I don't see the harm in this seeing everybody can make a mistake. These two groups are very trusted people, and could very well need this ability in certain situations. (don't ask which, just trust me on my words that those situations existed before and will probably exist in the future as well)

So if it was up to me, no changes would be made.

Also, there's no need to really ask for an administrative answer. You can always be sure there'll be one. When first looking through this topic I didn't deem it needed yet to answer, but I have now because I saw the need.

Seriously why remove it? So ONE user made ONE mistake. He said he was sorry. Let's not make him the target of the other legends that use it properly. The last thing we need to do is make someone "the person that got it removed"

as frank said, if trusted staff such as himself aren't allowed such an ability why should legends and staff be.

I can see no feasable reason for them having such an ability, if they wish a message to be sent to all in one usergroup they can contact someone with the ability, presumably the admins, to do so, as the rest of us users would presumably have to.

Yes this topic is here because a mistake was made, if the mistake wasn't made then we would not have been alerted to the issue, if we knew about it we would have probably complained before.

Not to worry, guys. We're figuring out the permissions still, including for chat mods. Chat mods should be able to send out multiple PMs, in my opinion. Chat mods, we'll let you know what the final decision is soon.
