What browser are you using? Usually there is an option in the web browser tools that lets you choose to open a link in a new tab or a new window.

First of all: is this a suggestion or something you've noticed?

If it is a suggestion: I'll await what people think about it here.

If it is something you've noticed: which link did you click to get to this? The one on the forums shouldn't result in a new window since none of the code suggests that.

I believe he's having the problem of his browser opening chat in a new window, not chat opening itself into a new window.
