Seemingly not, Sanity. If you would like to make one, that would be awesome! I am always up to helping you out if needed.

Do you have any ideas as to what you want to put into it? I mean, we have a walkthrough of Tutorial Island, which would quite like updating.

You've slipped up slightly there Gamey, we have a Tutorial Island guide already re-written.
(Here, by Goten) We're just waiting on TAI for this one :)

Thanks for the subtle hint, Halley ;)

Actually, I think he's referring to an all-around "Introduction to Runescape" guide, not just Tutorial Island. It's probably aimed at the members fresh off of the Island, actually.

Well, there is no huge rush, so it only needed to be subtle!

I know, but Gamey mentioned that he could update the Tutorial Island guide, which would be a bit counter-constructive.

Oh, my mistake. Sorry Halley ^_^;

An introductory guide to Runescape. What could that include? Where would you finish it? From levels 3 - 10, or higher? Would you do guides on all skills, or just combat? Because in theory, if you go that way we can just take sections from the Skill Guides and put them together.

Of course, thats just me speculating. I want to wait for SanityCore to post what he was thinking before I jumped in. xD

((Thats your cue, Sanity!))

I was pretty much thinking of just telling what there is to do in Lumbridge. Like when the noob needs to learn in a skill or something important like that. But come to think of it, The Guide of Lumbridge under City Reports pretty much says it all. But it could use an update on it like these I found(the bolded show what could be added/taken off.):

Lumbrige Guide wrote:

The Graveyard and Church
The castle graveyard and church is the home of an altar, a Prayer Tutor, and a Yew Tree. The Prayer Tutor gives more information about prayers and their different uses. The beautiful Yew Tree in the graveyard is sadly victim to “macroers” looking to cheat. The altar gives no extra prayer points, but is the only one in that area.

That should be taken off! Those darn macroers are gone!

Lumbrige Guide wrote:

Bob's Brilliant Axes

Bob sells a few Axes (Hatchets) and Battle-Axes. He also sells Bronze Pickaxes for one gp each encase you lost yours after Tutorial Island. His wares and prices are listed below for further notation.Bob here can also repair you pickaxes and or Hachets/Battle-Axe.

He does repair. We should add that!

Lumbridge Guide wrote:
The Lumbridge Mine
This new mine only contains five Copper and five Tin, but there is a tutor (what a surprise!) to teach about the skill of Mining.Which is the other half of Smithing

Just think you should add the bold in that one ^. When they talk about the furnace they say its one part of smithing. Why not say that for mining?

Those are the only ones I can seem to find.

Bob repairs pickaxes? Since when? O_o

And despite there being a guide for Lumbridge, this kind of guide would still be good for getting people started in every direction, even if only within Lumbridge's borders or directly next to the city. If at all possible, I'd like to help with this guide, even if it means making a new account.

And if this guide plans on coming to pass and a new account is made, an important piece of information to remember... You can achieve level 3 of every stat use-able on Tutorial Island (except possibly magic, due to being teleported as soon as the spells are spent). After level 3 in each skill, you stop gaining experience, but this does mean you might leave Tutorial Island with a higher combat level than normal.

While you shouldn't copy them, looking at other fansite's guides for specific things can usually give you ideas on what information to collect, and how you may want to present it (of course, it also allows you to expound onto it, giving us the more comprehensive guide).

Here is Zybez's guide, and here is RuneHQ's. As you can see, they're both quite long, and should you take it on, be mindful that it won't be an easy task to complete.

You're a member of the Guide Writers Team, so when we free up some space in the forum, we can start to work on this as a group. Since this would be a very large guide in theory, it would be best for us to finish our Summoning guide before tackling this one.

RuneHQ's is outdated enough to show the old Runescape interface, one-up for us for having it updated (like Zybez).

And I've already gone ahead and made a new account, if the guide team is truly bogged down then help will be needed here.

We aren't really that bogged down, just Donut likes to keep the place clutter free.

Doughnut, do you mind if this guide isn't taken into Guide Writers? I know that is what the group was set up to do, but I think this guide would work best if worked on as a community.

Perhaps we could have it posted in General Discussion, and ask for input from everybody? Of course, we can credit Sanity as the original author since it was his idea, and everyone else who puts anything significant in will get credited as 'Special Thanks to'.
If not, then leaving it here might suffice. And if it doesn't get completed, or is forgotten etc, then I'll move it to Guide Writers and we can work on it from there.

Just a little idea. This guide isn't needed, so theres no rush to get it completed, so some trial and error can't go a miss.

It pretty much isn't needed. The Lumbridge City Guide says it all. It just needs some things getting fixed...

I don't think thats true. This guide isn't NEEDED as in, its not needed to be published as quick as a new quest guide, so it doesn't need a team of Caffeine-addicted keyboardjockeys The Guides Team *shifty eyes* working on it around the clock. I think this guide would do really well amongst new players, and it would be awesome if we could get one written, but I think it would honestly do best if you took advice and input from various RV'ers.
