Guide to GnomecoptersIntroductionGnomecopters were released on March 31st, 2008 as a new method of gnome transportation used primarily to show F2P players several exciting areas of the members world. P2P players are also able to use Gnomecopters if they're curious, or are currently unable to access an area, but still wish to view it.
The Gnomecopters allow players to see six exquisite members-only areas:
- Lletya: A village of elves located in the far east area of RuneScape.
- Castle Wars: A fast paced, exciting and strategic mini-game, comparable to capture the flag.
- Trollweiss and Rellekka Hunter Area: This frozen dungeon is an area where members are able to catch a large array of creatures for the Hunter skill.
- Pest Control: A battlefield located on a desolate island. Players must keep the monsters at bay in order to protect the knight.
- Burthorpe Games Room: A brilliant games room where players are able to play games against other players, such as Connect-4.
- Burgh de Rott: A spooky ghost-like town inhabited by mysterious citizens.
Getting ThereThe quickest way to access the Gnomecopters would be from Draynor Village, but Lumbridge is quite close also. It is directly north of the Lumbridge Flour Mill, through a field of cows, and east of Draynor Manor.
Using the GnomecoptersTo use the Gnomecopters, and start your journey to distant lands, you must first talk to Hieronymus Avlafrim. Ask Hieronymus 'What are Gnomcopter Tours?' and then continue to ask him questions. He will then tell you to talk to Sasquine to start the tours.
Talk to Sasquine, and he will give you several pointers before allowing you to use the Gnomecopters. After he has finished, select the area you would like to go to and Sasquine will present you with a ticket to the area you selected. The tickets are free, don't worry!
Once you've been given your ticket, be sure to unequip any head-gear, capes, and armor or weapons. Then simply click 'Fly Gnomecopter' and your journey will begin.
ControlsWhen using the Gnomecopters, there are several controls that can make your tour more enjoyable and easier. Auto-Pilot is a feature that can be toggled on or off. When on, it will fly you about your chosen area by itself, and you can simply sit back and enjoy the view. If you chose to disable it (off) you're able to go wherever you'd like by your own whim. Simply click on the ground or the mini-map as you would to walk normally.
Upon clicking the large capital "L", you will return to Lumbridge, more specifically the area where the Gnomecopters are located.
In the middle area of this interface, you will be able to read information on the area you selected. Click the arrows to go to the next page, or the previous page. The buttons at the far left and far right will allow you to go to the very beginning of the information, or the very end respectively.
You are also able to 'run' in a Gnomecopter, simply select run and your Gnomecopter will travel faster, and you will not lose any energy. You can also follow other players who are in the same area as you.
Lastly, there are Sign-posts in specific areas of the places you choose. These will give you information on varying areas of the area you're in. After clicking on the Sign-post, you can select the button at the bottom of the interface to change the area you're reading up on. Click the X to go back to the normal view.
