I think Runevillage should get its own Ventrilo server. Many people use Ventrilo, and it is fun. Sure, it cost some money, but I think if you announced that you were attempting to get a Ventrilo server, people would donate a lot of money to get one. I know I would. People like talking, and thus would like talking over typing. These are all reasons why I think Runevillage should get a Ventrilo server.

We get a voice chat suggestion every now and then, and they are usually denied.

The reason is that we already have a chatroom, although it is not a voice chatroom. Voice chatrooms would be a little harder to moderate, and may require a moderator to be present at all times, which is just not possible.

I personally much prefer typing to talking. That people like to talk isn't a simple given.

I personally don't think we need it. Most people that want to talk to other RVers already use Skype. Besides, it cannot be an official RuneVillage Ventrilo server unless we had enough to people to moderate it, which would be fairly difficult, I might think.

I'd advise just using Chat or Skype. Anything that's not entirely needed (or is already in use through Skype) probably isn't something Runevillage would pay money on.

Ventilo could maybe be useful. I dont have a mic and never used it but maybe if we had a server in the chat so people could talk would be cool

Yes, Jaron summed up the reason why we cannot sponsor official RV voice chat servers nicely. However, that shouldn't discourage you from inviting your RV friends to join and chat. Keep in mind that the voice chat will have no affiliation with RuneVillage and the opinions voiced on the chat do not reflect RV's.

Well, we were asked what would we like to see in RV. I think that we should think positively about the ideas. Think of ways they could be made successful. A lot of websites/clans have a vent server. I am not sure that it's possible, but I know for a fact it's not impossible.

Vent, along with other things could be something that could get the hype back to RV.
