I don't see why having a seperate page for additional smilies and the "View more smilies" link is useful, while there is so much space around the default smilies. Check the pictures.

I mean the additional emoticons could simply fit into the message body smiley selection. It's also annoying to get a pop up like that + some people have annoying pop up blockers + waste of time.

Its decent, might cause a very tiny bit of extra lag. But its kept the less version because its less clutter and they're the most used ones. The view mores are kind of extra smilies that we use on special occasions, but not as often as the ones we have quick access to.

Though thats just my opinion.

You can just as easily memorize your favourite smileys and add those smileys by writing the 'code' for it instead of finding it through the list.

I personally like it how it is. Like J@nr0k mentioned, there's less loading time when you don't have to put them all there. (Plus, I sort of like how people don't use the Hulk, Spam, and Plz Die smilies all the time. If they were easily accessible there, they'd probably start popping up everywhere...)

There isn't actually much space thre for me. You have to remember, things look different in different resolutions. not everyone runs everything in 4million x 3million. I, personally use 1024 x 756 and have quiute a crowded post-reply section as it is, and i wouldn't want every single smilie in front of me.

Runevillage the forum is pretty well much done. Runevillage the group will eventually die, but as long as we're still friends with each other in the end, it's still a pretty big thought in our heads. Runevillage the family is forever, no matter where we settle down. If absolutely nothing else ever comes of Runevillage in the future, that alone is a pretty damn awesome thought.

I think having more smilies added to the post reply screen would be a good idea. Except I think the big ugly ones like :ban: and :spam: Shouldn't be. Just add some smaller ones like :cheese:(Glode will be ever so happy) and :henner: (henner will be ever so happy).

I honestly don't even see why we have them. I don't see the use in them as using them will often be looked at as flaming :?

Well, I personally don't really need any additional smilies to be available right away. All smilies that I ever intend to use are available on the left. And the cheese smilie I know by heart. It would take me four times longer to click at such an emoticon than just write it ;) I do have the space for it on the left, but I'm sure some people don't.

I highly doubt it will cause any significant lag due to loading the page, seeing it will be loaded from your cache. But it could indeed make the page load a bit longer because it has more work when building up the page.

Yeah I think the ones that are actually smilies (not: :spam: :lock: :die: :ban: ) can be added and won't ruin the shape.

I understand your point too guys, but a variety of smilies leads to more effective expressions.
Not liking the other smilies is not a good excuse lol. And memorizing the smilies is also not really an excuse.
I checked different resolutions and only the sides get less, but there is still space below.

If I look at my side it just looks so empty and I think it's really annoying to always click on the view more smilies.
Also, why display all font colours and only a few smilies?
I use other sites that display all smilies on the side and I did experience that it's much more useful and less irritating.

I don't think the loading time is a problem for those active posters as those images are IMMEDIATELY cached when you load them for the first time. Unless of course, you like clearing your cache after you stop browsing.

I wouldn't mind seeing some of the less annoying smilies added either. I can't say it would do me personally a great help, as I've memorized all the smilies that I use off by heart.

While we're on this topic, would it be possible to add several small smilies, that are identical to the size of our current ones? Goten had a few that were quite nice, maybe if he sees this he can post them.

I actually do wish they were all in one place. I think the extra step to clicking "view more smilies" is too much ::OMG::

We had this suggestion very recently, and I believe it was a no.

We only put the most used, most basic smilies in that area. Putting them all in there would look unorganized. All you have to do is click view more smilies, and then click the smiley. It's no biggy.

Personally, I don't like it when it opens up a new window, it doesn't crash my computer or anything.
I was just thinking, why can't it work like a spoiler?

If your pop up blocker denies it, change the settings. ^_^;
