Any of you who have been here for a while are probably used to seeing me come out occasionally and beg for money to cover the expenses of keeping RV running....

However, you've not seen me put on my beggar's cloak since September now, and actually we've been doing OK for cash.... not spectacular, but OK... we've kept all the expenses covered, and are creeping ahead toward a small reserve-- BUT 'creeping' is a key word here... we still have a small problem-- timing.

Somehow, it seems that all the "regular" contributors who keep us afloat have tended to send in their contributions during the last half of the month. Maybe everyone's having to wait to see if they have anything left at the end of the month. I dunno.

Often in the past, if we have had RV bills to pay, and donations were not there to cover them, I'd pay the bill and pay myself back later when donations came in.

However, as many of you know, it's hard times for me right now too- and has been for some time now, and I usually don't have the cash myself to cover RV expenses until donations come in.

So the problem is that even though there are enough donations coming in currently to cover our expenses, they're not all there when the bills are due, and we don't have enough in reserve to cover a whole month ahead-- so it causes a bit of a crunch at times.

Basically, the way it times out is that my rent, phone, and internet bills (my major expenses) are all due the first couple of weeks of the month-- RV's major bill (hosting) is due in mid-month, and donations are coming in at the end of the month. After paying all of my major bills, I usually don't have enough left to cover the RV bills when they're due (although the cash comes in a few days later).

I've sort of been juggling this by being late on some of my own bills, but that's caused a problem or two as well.

Soooooo.... what I'm getting around to is that if you're one of those regular contributors to RV, if it's possible for you to do so, can you shift your donation to the first half of the month?? This would bring the cash in when it was most needed.

And hopefully, things will continue as they have been, and we will eventually have a bit of reserve in RV to even out those times when donations aren't coming in exactly *when* we need them.

And of course, if you're *not* a regular donor, we could always use your financial input-- this would help us shift the payment cycle, and help us move toward having the small reserves we need to have.
