Wasn't sure where to open this topic :-s...

Why is it that you can report any post in the RuneVillage Army category of the forum and you cannot report posts on other categories :?

I'm thinking we all have in the RVA have the ability as in all usergroups. Because not all moderators view/ have access to the usergroups.

Way back people used to abuse the report abuse feature. Now only Staff, Legends, Moderators and Admins can report posts. If you find a post you need to report you can just Private Message a moderator of that catagagory or a Board Mod.

As for why some private usergroups have the report function I am not sure.

I have the report function in all forums now ^_^

But i have noticed the same thing in a few forums. Mainly RVA and some of the BTS forums have a report feature which everybody can use as long as they have acess to that forum. I know the BTS ones have it because it's a relic from when you used them to alert to a finished guide etc. Not that anyone uses them now.

But why RVA has one, i have no idea... :?

Runevillage the forum is pretty well much done. Runevillage the group will eventually die, but as long as we're still friends with each other in the end, it's still a pretty big thought in our heads. Runevillage the family is forever, no matter where we settle down. If absolutely nothing else ever comes of Runevillage in the future, that alone is a pretty damn awesome thought.

It's because not all moderators view our sub forums....They view the ones they are designated to moderator we all do our job in the usergroup to keep it clean and don't have inactivity. So moderators don't need to view the subforums/Private usergroup forums.
That's why we have the report function in the RVA.

Normal users could never report posts, unless it happened sometime whilst I wasn't here heh.

Meh, well then it is a perk for staff and legends upwards ^_^

And Tyler, mods do actively browse usergroups. It is kind of a board moderators job to keep an eye on things.

Wouldn't it make sense to give the ability to all villagers with 2000+ posts? It's not like they will abuse it.

You'd be surprised.

But yea, when you don't have the shiny report button, and you still see a post that needs a mod to look at, you should pm a mod of that category (find those mods in the links on the main page, underneath the description of each forum), or pm a board moderator. Try looking on the who'sonline list at the bottom of the main page to see which mods are online.

Being able to post 2,000 times isn't the best judgment of being able to hand responsibility, nor maturity.

The fact that there's currently 271 users with 2,000+ posts would also pose a problem.

If you cannot report a post using the forum options then send a PM to a mod. We don't mind having users PM us, it makes our job easier actually.

So don't worry about you "bugging" us. Even if I go into chat I have people telling me to check out a post.

Heh, once upon a time, I was in the Editors usergroup, as a normal user, I could see the staff lounge and bluecard posts in that forum. It was abused.
The end.

I think we aren't supposed to report posts in usergroups, since I can't do so for any of them as well.

Like Burks said, you don't need to have the report function at all times. PMing an online Moderator usually will get the job done faster, and we certainly don't mind at all.
