IntroductionThe Assist System, released the 12th of November, 2007 is a system that allows a player to use the skills of another player to receive items in exchange, that they wouldn't have been able to make before due to their level in that particular skill being too low.
Before this update, if you wanted your sharks cooked, you would have to give them to a player and have them cook them for you, and potentially stealing them. With the Assist System, you are now able to cook them yourself, even if you do not have the required levels, with the assistance of another player who
does have the required levels.
Please note, there are skills that the Assist System cannot be used with, these skills are:
- Hitpoints
- Attack
- Strength
- Ranged
- Prayer
- Defence
- Slayer
- Agility
- Firemaking
- Thieving
- Woodcutting
- Mining
- Fishing
- Hunter
This is because the system is designed to help players work with resources they already have, not to help them gather those resources or fight.
How to use the Assist SystemIf You're Requiring AssistanceFirstly, make certain the player who you're requiring assistance from has the 'Accept Aid' option on. (Accept Aid can be toggled ON or OFF by clicking the wrench icon and clicking on the medical bag)

After selecting the skill, you're now free to sit back, relax, and talk with friends while you receive XP while the other player does the work. The other player will be able to do any of the skills selected for as long as they're highlighted, and as long as they're within twenty squares of you.
To toggle who can require your assistance, toggle the 'Assist' button found by 'Clan' and 'Trade'.
