yep.. .if you're reading this, you're aware by now that we've moved into our new home on a new server, and some rennovations to ThePub in the deal.

You may have noticed that we're now on Version 3 of phpBB, the latest update of that software.

You've probably also noticed that it's a bit different, we hope in a lot of nice ways. It has many new features, as well as some built-in items that used to be forum mods.

But you'll also notice some of the mods absent-- we'll be working on that as we go along-- our biggest priority was to get ThePub back in action! So you'll eventually see things like 'quick reply' and 'you tube' embedding come back.

I'd like to thank all the folks who helped get us back up and going-- Frogger put in many hours doing the actual conversion of the software and data to the new upgrade-- Mustangnut stepped in a set the new usergroups and permissions (something that is a bit complicated and very different in this new version)-- and the entire admin, mod, and staff members of the Village, who got to test out a 'hidden' version of this for the past few days and helped us find a good many glitches and things to fix just to get us here!

EDIT:: one thing i almost left out was the 'chronicles' theme we use here at the Village. There is not a new one out yet for phpBB 3, so we had to make one ourselves, and Cosmos, Frogger did the coding on that. (I have to take the blame for the graphics and buttons!)

And of course, i'd like to thank all those who've donated recently-- that certainly made it possible-- our treasury was a bit low, and with the host problems, we had to rush out and get a new host and a new server-- and had the recent response not been as good as it was, we would not have had the funds to do this! So a big "THANKS" to all the donors too! And please, don't anyone forget us in the future when it comes to donations. This new server is a good bit more expensive than the last one, and we're still going to need help each month to keep it rolling!

ONE MORE EDIT: be sure and check out the user control panel (link in the upper left corner) for some of the new changes!

We have also moved the main site onto this new server, and our web host is now TheVillageHost!

Well.. that's about it for now... we hope all of you enjoy this new home and have a great time in TheVillage!

happy trails!

Seems like I checked RV just in time to see the switch..

Getting the sneak peek sure was fun, and allowed us staff some time to get used to everything before the switch. Of course, there's still lots to get used to.

Thanks to everyone who put so much work into this. =D> I hope the rest of you enjoy the new feel to the Pub!

I like it, looks really good and i have only just been on here for about 3 minutes.

GREAT work everyone who was involved! Our entire admin and staff team, big thanks out to frogger for not only the transfering of the old rv as hiker mentioned but hosting the temp forums again.

Little disappointed about not having quick reply though, but all in good time.

Really, only thing I'd like to be changed soon is to make the mass pm feauture admin/mod only (with a smaller version allowing usergroup leaders to PM their whole usergroup).

Other than that, RV 2.0 is awesome! And we haven't even updated the main site yet. :P

I really like the look of this new Pub, the changes are small but it just seems easier on the eye.
Anyway, good job getting everything going so smoothly! :D

I'm starting to understand how I can add BBCode myself... I'll play around a bit and I'm sure I'll be able to bring back all the old codes we used to have :)

Runevillage the forum is pretty well much done. Runevillage the group will eventually die, but as long as we're still friends with each other in the end, it's still a pretty big thought in our heads. Runevillage the family is forever, no matter where we settle down. If absolutely nothing else ever comes of Runevillage in the future, that alone is a pretty damn awesome thought.
