I wish my laptop wasn't a POS when it came to steam games. I have so many, but can't play any. I keep buying them when they go on say for humble bundle with hopes i'll play them one day.. lol

I JUST GOT BACK! And now we are dying.
I can understand why, RuneVillage has had very low activity and is not worth keeping up with.
Hasn't RuneScapes activity itsself decreased? I feel like there's nobody around anymore! Ghost towns!

I feel the same way. And also see that most places on RS is empty, which can be a good thing like previously overpopulated training spots. But it feels weird with so little people on. I think bots are decreasing in number too as their business is less profitible. Someone correct me if i'm wrong about the bots. Havent been in members servers for some time

We could just create a group... I highly doubt half of the 1000 people that like our page even know what the Village is. (Like I said, people join groups just to join them. This applies to Facebook pages as well.)

Just a suggestion, but could we make it so we can ass our facebook profiles to our rv profiles, much the same way as we can as IM details and websites?

Might have posted this a little later than planned. Looks like I'm a little late to the insight party..

Randomly thought of RV, decided to venture back over, and I see this thread. I'm pretty sure the past times I thought about "venturing back to see how things are", I've seen posts like this.

We do this every Fuzzy Bunny year.

I agree with this Suicide Messiah here. What is the point of RV? What is keeping people here? Think about the current "age" you are in. The utilities of RuneVillage are practically not needed anymore. Runescape is not that popular anymore, so very few people are going to be running over here looking for a guide or a clan to join.

Overall, think about how to progress rather than deleting and moving on. Either change RV to what the few users here want, or figure out a new place to keep in touch. Even though it seems to be changed to be more fitted to the current users, it still looks like too much at the same time.

Hope things are well with everyone. Memories are flowing in my mind from back in the day as I wrote this together. Thinking about it, I was a stupid kid.

What utilities? We have no guides, no items databases, or any "utilities" useful to any RS player. RV was destroyed by Jagex's decision to drop RV as a supported fansite, especially after it issued takedowns for our content.

I still believe RV has a lot of life left to give. This small corner of the internet has been around nearly as long as the internet has been in any publicly-accessable form. And to just "file it away" like a bunch of long-forgotten photographs just seems a damn shame to me. After all, RV still has a lot of valuable "IP", such as the spectacular PHPBB3 theme that many RVers worked tirelessly to create, as well as the custom emoticons that we all know and love. I think it would be a shame to lose those to the passage of time even more than RV itself.

The overall feel of this forum is spectacular. It is visually unique in an oddly comforting way. The colors, the emotes, the *art*. All fantastic. The mechanics are better than any other forum I've been to. All of this was done by Villagers. *That* is why some stick around and others drop in from time to time.
The Runescape gold status thing was unfortunate, but wasn't the reason for the initial decline in activity.
This is the internet. Sites, trends and memes are fleeting. So it goes...
It's almost like when children grow up and move out of Mom and Dad's. They get busy with their own lives and goals and families. Mom and Pop's is still comforting, though, so they stop in to say hello. Here the family inside jokes. Have an unconditional acceptance when the world seems uninviting. It's necessary. It's life. Mom and/or Dad, get sick eventually. It's something we all have to go through.

RV doesn't have to die, though. It's not a person to be put out of it's misery, like some of you think. RV is still serving a purpose. It's comfort food.
New Villagers may show up and stay from time to time (Market Man). They are the grandchildren of RV. The next generation. Why deny them the opportunity of the same comfort and acceptance we all benefit from because we can't get over the fact that RV isn't what it used to be. It's not. It's different, but it still serves a purpose.
