The way to better a site that desperately needs to get guides out is to just help out with the guides.

Like I said there I don't know if this was isolated but the fact remains that I tried for a good couple months to get up with the guides team to no result. It's not just the guides that need the overhaul. We need to get older users excited about RV and new users interested in joining.

Yes, we have a whole ton to do. From guides to promotion and onward. Hopefully you realize that we are reading the same book but are just on different pages.

Yes it's true that I tried getting up with the entire guides team leaders and had no response. I just went back through my messages and after I spoke with A5Chow about getting on guides I was referred to TheAmericanIdiot. Sent him a message and was given no reply. Then I sent one to Gamestar and again no reply.

That would be why -- while they were "leaders" at the time, they weren't active.

Dark Paladin, Rocky, and Glodenox are the only leaders now.

Dont forget you dont have to be in the group to write a guide. Anyone can submit a guide in the RuneVillage.com Submissions & Corrections forum or pm any leader, Glode, hiker or myself. If you want to be in the group, submitting a guide would be a nice start, though not required.

Pretty much what DC1 and Henner have said.

Our biggest problem is outdated guides, and anyone can help with that. We just have a lack of effort happening - Which I can't really blame anyone for, writing a bunch of guides can get tedious, but it's our best shot at regaining popularity.

People can keep saying "We need RV2.0", but we really don't. A pretty site is near meaningless if the content sucks.

Yeah. That's why I haven't done much to pursuit site advertisement on RuneScape. It's one thing to get the users here, it's another to keep them. And we certainty can not depend on the staffs charm for users to keep coming back.

Our current layout (RV 1.3) looks miles better than Tip.it's (and Sal's Realm) does and they're both "platinum" fansites. In fact, the only reason that I can see that we aren't a platinum fansite ourselves is because we don't get thousands of unique visitors everyday, which is just a dumb requirement because the whole purpose of being a "platinum" fansite is to drive more people to us, but maybe those are both just my opinion.Have you tried again more recently? It's moot to complain about things in the past if they're different now, by doing that you're accomplishing nothing.

More On-Topic: Advertising RV in game would be a huge boost to us. If it brings somebody to check out the website, perhaps they'll like what they see, and continue to use us. Perhaps tell someone else about us. There's no point in hoping that the second RV 2.0 comes out, RV will explode with activity like it used to be, I guarantee it won't. It'd help to rebuild RV as a "household name" fansite now, rather than later, so that our activity is already higher than it is today when RV 2.0 comes out.
