Hmm... I think I fixed it...

I think there's some sort of other similar glitch when sending Private Messages. For me, anyway.

Edit: Just happened when I posted this, too. :?

Not gone for me either, although it's a tiny bug. :P

I don't think I've gotten this bug, but we'll see.

EDIT: Nope, no bug.

Hold on, when did we get a 300-message inbox? Used to be 160.

At least two users, Metternich and Chappo52, have reported (through chat) that they get a bug where all it says is "This board has no forums." when they're logged onto the forums. At first thought it could be a validation-problem, but with more than one occasion, and Metternich having been a member here for years (though could have to re-validate if he changed his mail or so recently, but don't think that's the case) and Chappo52 claiming to have validated the account properly, I'm not so sure.

^That would be due to an error in their usergroup permission mask. It should be fixed now, I had exactly the same problem just about an hour ago.

And I'm interested, does RuneVillage have a policy of upgrading the forum every time phpBB releases even just a bugfix?

That's what we attempt to. Sadly enough there's only one person right now who can qualify for doing that (me). :(

Hmm. I suppose the site whose forums I frequent (Tip.It, I quit RS a long time ago) has too many users and posts to do that. :|

And I totally agree with your choice of phpBB. Very nice.

I can, uh, learn to, if you want. I use to do it but that was so long ago that I forgot everything.

Updating a forum isn't really that much of a danger, normally speaking. You'd just need to be able to take a back-up of your files and your database. The second thing is what I'm still missing (unless I would personally download a Gigabyte).

The trick is to have a second forum in which you can test and check whether an update would work well. The only danger are things that get changed in the databases.

I'm starting to feel we may want to stop doing updates to the forums. Once everything is running smoothly, nobody is having issues and all looks well, we could just stop doing updates and just make additions ourselves. It's mainly the mods we put on our forum that cause problems when we do an update.

This was before today's quite bigger forum-disappear. :P The forums themself was invisible for a while for me too today, but that never stated an error message. I don't know if they're linked somehow, but the problem I mentioned above is 'older', and didn't seem to occur for as many people. And considering one member was really new, the other quite old here, a permission mask-problem seemed a bit unlikely. But I'm no forum-wiz, so I have no idea. :P

I think there was just a problem because I removed the cached versions which he would usually use to get his information for certain permission groups. I think that I fixed those by changing a permission in those groups which made him redo those (removed) cached versions.

That's just my guess though :?

Nope, that's an old message. It could be that we'll be going to the latest version somewhere tomorrow, but I can't promise anything.

Hmm... Weird. I thought that problem was solved. I did get it once as well, but thought it was due to those "This board contains no forums" error. Hopefully it'll be fixed when I upgrade the forum to 3.0.2. The files are ready for uploading and testing, but I'm still busy at the moment.

Update to 3.0.2 is coming in about 20 minutes. Depends on how fast I can eat :shifty:
