Heh, I'm afraid you can only cast a single vote.

Oh, I'm pretty sure it all-around fitness, since it's called a fitness forum. So anything physically related = what goes in this forum.

Anything from ab workouts to the best training regimen for sports and then some :)

I don't understand why people are votin No, I mean its a completely benifitual forum. An if it goes inactive (which i highly doubt) then they can just get rid of it.

I mean cmon atleast give it a chance.. :?

Thanks,
Cowboy

Even though this little voice in my head tells me otherwise, I voted yes anyways.

At one time we had a quite lengthy weightlifting topic going on.

Aye, I guess some people just hate being active so much, that they decided to vote no. Like I said, if the forum or usergroup is a complete failure, just get rid of it. No harm done. At least it will spark new types of topics in Runevillage.

What could go wrong? Ask the little voice!

Well, it doesn't even really matter how many people say no, only how many people would like to join. All the people that said no just wouldn't have to join the group.

While I wouldn't mind trying it out as a forum, I would not like to see it as a Usergroup.

Er, shouldn't it be a usergroup first, and then if it's active enough, a forum?

That's what I was seeing. Like the Homework Help forum. It started out as a usergroup, became really active, then it was upgraded into a normal forum.

I believe since Shadow was banned, the group leader, that's why the Homework Help forum was moved, not because of activity.

But I agree, Usergroup first, and then if we get an amazing amount of activity, making it public would be superb.

So if Tooooon, the group leader of the Lost group was banned, the Lost forum would become an actual forum?

No, I wouldn't think.

I think the group leader being banned, caused it to be looked at as being made public, due to all the help it could give.

Well we did vote on moving the Homework Forum. since it was helpful to the Village (as most are still in school) I think that may have been a big pushing point. What real help would we gain by having a Lost group made public (since it was already mentioned, I used it)? Same could go for the car forum, GW, WoW, etc.

Let's get some good topics going about personal fitness, like we've had in the past, and show it can be active and useful rather than just guessing it will be.

My feelings exactly. Setting it up as a usergroup is just setting it up to fail. The Homework Help usergroup actually wasn't all that active. Activity probably doubled after it went public. If it's a useful forum, and could make a good addition to RV, why restrict it to a small, select group of users who happen to notice RV has usergroups?

I think our current views regarding usergroups are a bit counterproductive. If a subject is considered popular enough to have its own usergroup, why not go that extra step further and make it a forum? Believe it or not, it's actually easier to merge/delete forums because once a usergroup is made it is subject to the 3 strikes policy.

I've voted yes, and I guess I'd still vote if this was to be made into a usergroup, but it would be with significant reservations. We've deleted a fair few forums in the past 6 months or so, I think there's space to add a forum if people think it will be sufficiently active.

On the subject of the Homework Help forum, I remember discussions taking place about it becoming public, regardless of Shadow's banning. Although that may have provided added impetus for its change, the push was on before that occurred.

Maybe that is because of bad advertising. Perhaps consider making some sort of sticky about user groups (and if possible all the different usergroups) so others can join them (besides the Lumbridge Lounge)

How? It doesn't matter if we make it a regular forum or a usergroup. As long as we have enough active members, it won't fail.

I really don't think we need this. Come on, how many fitness topics have you seen in General Chat. The idea of a new forum is when there are enough topics related to it to split it up into a whole new category.

I voted no.

As a usergroup not a new forum on the main site, maybe though.

But with the majority of people saying, "Yes!" to this Usergroup, it would mean that there's easily the potential that it will be active, and with all the topics that are able to be discussed, I really can't imagine how it would be inactive.

And I've seen my fair share of Fitness topics in General Chat, maybe there's not many, but when there is, it usually has a lot of activity. I remember a topic on Weightlifting had many replies to it, and a post on running, and there was also a question on metabolism and what to eat, I think.

I bet you that Runevillage wouldn't have as many topics over games if we didn't have a forum dedicated to it. I bet people on Runevillage wouldn't post topics about how to do their homework if we didn't have a forum dedicated to it. I bet no one would post stories or RP nearly as much if we didn't have a forum dedicated to it.

Okay, I think you catch my drift here and really, there are over two times enough people saying yes, so is this idea going to be run or what? Someone said earlier that Zilla was holding off on this kind of stuff, so I want to see her input.
