This needs to be increased from one. To what it is increased to doesn't matter to me, as long as it's more than one I'm perfectly fine with it.

I know the original reason (that being spam bots sending crap to people) for the limit on the number of recipients, but there hasn't been an incident of that sort in awhile now, and even then, if it has a limit like 3 on it, it would be caught before it's sent all the way around.

And if not an all around change, grant certain well trusted regular users the power to send PMs to multiple recipients, at least.

Options:
1. Increased limit
2. Certain number of posts
3. Certain amount of time at RV

I think it's a good idea, but I don't think we should allow it for all users, I think it should it only be allowed for users who have been around for a certain number of days or have made a certain number of posts... like 1wk/1mth of activity or 30-50 posts.

A set number of posts would be the better choice of those two.

I was under the impression that the original reason for the limit was because allowing someone to send a message to more than one person and allowing the same person to send a message to a usergroup (like Registered Users) was the same permission field, and you couldn't have one without the other. But either I am mistaken or that has since undergone an updates, as it seems they are two different options now.

I thought that problem applied to allowing people to send a message to a usergroup, Jaron, not to increasing the user limit. Assuming there is no such difficulty, I'd be in favour of increasing the limit to 10 for people who have made 50 posts. 50 posts is fairly difficult to obtain without being here for more than a week, so it seems superfluous to institute an additional requirement.

I'm confused; I thought that's what I said? I'm fairly sure it used to be that "Allow user to send PMs to multiple users and/or groups" was the same button, so you couldn't increase the user recipient limit for someone without allowing them to message usergroups (including Registered Users).

I guess I don't remember there ever being that combined option. Certainly when this was brought up some time ago, the proposal was to allow users in a usergroup to PM all the members in that usergroup. I don't recall there being a previous suggestion to allow users to send simultaneous PMs to users, but my memory may simply be failing me.

Well, I can get it so people can send a pm to X amount of users, no groups. But there is no option to set requirements to be able to use that feature.
