Well, It's a pretty straights forward suggestion. If you go into the Clan Recruitment Forum right now you can see that it has been "Spammed" by people who have 1-10 posts. So my suggestion is: Make a minimum amount of posts to post in there 100-ish. It'll solve the people who go onto practically every Runescape Fansite and post the topic but never post on it again. Thanks. :D

If that was instated, there would be one post in that forum (excluding stickies) being Boa's TER topic. (Link) For that reason alone I don't think this suggestion would work. ^_^;

That being said, I really wouldn't mind the whole forum being removed. I'm sure something could be worked out with Boa.

I posted quite a large post on the suggestion global Applequest had running several days ago, in essence the post suggested that Clan Recruitment was removed, PvP Discussion + Field of Death were merged. With this, the category would have two forums, the RVA forum as well as a merged 'PvP Forum'. These two forums could easily be moved to the RuneScape! Category and the whole Player VS. Player Category could be removed.

It would only raise activity. With Jagex's December 10th update, PvP took a hard hit, and the PvP Discussion and Field of Death forums are nothing compared to what they once were. They could easily coexist as one forum, and moving it to the RuneScape! Category would draw more attention to a dying, but needed forum.

The RVA would only benefit also.

Pro-this idea.

Anti-RVA/FoD merge.

There'd be the RVA recruitment also.

To be honest, the clans don't even get replies, so there isn't much point having the forum at all really.

I like the idea of the merge / movement of the forums though.

It's a good idea to merge and move Field Of Death And PvP Discussion to the Runescape! Category together with RVA (or maybe RVA could be moved to Private Usergroups).

The Clan recruitment forum is pretty dead. Most of us players are soloers or duoers anyway, and don' t really make clans. I do like clans, but making clans in RV isn't that easy, for the reason I just mentioned. I guess the best place to create a clan is by RS forums. I also noticed people prefer having events (in the party forum) instead of clans, or just join the RVA.
So in my opinion, Clan Recruitment can be removed.

I think a 50+ post count should be a Requirment because it doesn't take long and would probably make them want to stay after they got their 50 posts,

on another note recently I joined a clan and I found out about the clan on Clan recruitment here so I don't think getting rid of it is a food idea but I would like to see the spam of that forum go Down or Merge with another forum.

I don't think merging FoD with RVA would be a good idea. We have to remove members quite often, due to various reasons. It's a private forum anyway.

No one has suggested that, Toku. :P

Dark suggested that the Field of Death and RVA Forums are both moved into the RuneScape! Category.

I don't agree with having a Clan Recruitment section. If your serious about joining a decent clan you can go to RSC.

Yeah this happens a lot. Some forums have said that you need a minimum amount of posts, since they don't want just to be another place for people to recruit on.

Sal's and RSC have active communities because they have their RAW lists and are involved in clans and wars and stuff. So people have friends there and they can discuss who won what, who is better, etc. Here its just a forum where people post a recruitment. I doubt anyone checks their actually.

FoD is dead. Its nice to have and stuff, but really inactive. No harm in keeping it, but it would take me a week to notice its non-existence. Nothing happens there outside of Justin's and Eric's galleries.

Terminate Clan Recruitment, its just a junk forum now.

Don't take this the wrong way, but....

We should not be encouraging people to go to other communities to recruit. We should fix the current system we have to work HERE. We should try to keep our members in our community. We should consider whats good and bad with our system, and add more good, remove more bad.

Every time I here someone say "they just go to RSC" or "you can find that on RSC" I always think of why can't we make RV a place where people can go for that.

Also, to my knowlege RV has the best official community clan: RVA. :D Join that if you can't find any clans you like that have posted in the Clan Recruitment forum.

The entire Clan Recruitment section should just be removed; Boa's topic can be put in PvP somewhere, maybe even as a sticky. I don't even see why RV lets people advertise their clans here anyway, we should be trying to get people into the RVA :-s .

I concur. We must lynch him now for the sake of the metagame, we MUST teach people that they can't go around claiming "anniversary" and expect leniency. Topsummoner.

This isn't an act out of failure, Toku. If we were to terminate the forum it wouldn't be because we couldn't offer what Zybez can. We very well could offer all Zybez offers and more, but the bottom line is their activity is significantly higher than ours.

There's next to zero threads in Clan Recruitment by people that are even remotely interested in RuneVillage. They see us as somewhere in which they can advertise their clan; nothing more. If we had a problem with this alone, I'd be definitely pro a post count requirement. But, if that was to be rectified, we'd have next to zero threads in the forum. ^_^;

I don't think the clan-making will be eliminated from Runevillage though. I mean it's just that a whole forum section is too much for so low activity.
I'm sure they'll allow to make clan-topics in another PvP forum, like FoD.

There is always a balance between activity and number of forums. Usually less active forums have less forum sections, while the more active it gets, the more they specify the forum.

In my opinion, the best solution would be to combined FoD, PvP Discussion and Clan Recruitment and move them (along with the RVA. but as a seperate usergroup still) into the Runescape Category forum.
