It's easily possible, from the date that was probably during summer break so a lot of people were home.

Another forum I frequent has regularly got over 1200 users online, and it's roughly the same size as RV.

The reason for that was due to having many, many bots online at the time.

Around that time we were having problems with them anyway, but I don't think we expected that they'd become so plentiful to the extent that it would change the online record.

That number was because of bots. We used to actually get like twice as many visiters a few years ago as we do now. :-s

I don't get the point of this topic :-s .

But I don't doubt it; when RS crashed (brick through the window incident) a couple months ago the number shut up by more than 100 in less than an hour.

It would be nice to see numbers like that constantly :D .

His logic is flawless. Topsummoner

I concur. We must lynch him now for the sake of the metagame, we MUST teach people that they can't go around claiming "anniversary" and expect leniency. Topsummoner.

Well try days like the RVBB1,2,3 where people are looking at when it is and what to bring or just on holidays where members are finding guides for the release of the holiday minigame. Probably not as many people but a bit I would guess. o_O

Well, it clearly happened.
It doesn't need confirming.

As has been explained by others, there were a large number of bots at the time (which had the added effect of causing the server to overload more frequently). This is one reason why we give recognition to the bots in the 'who is online'.

There could be a variety of other factors involved - summer holidays for some, an important RV event and the simple fact we had more users online a year ago.

In any case I think this question has been answered. As usual, if you wish to discuss this lock, please PM me.
